    Back on track

Well got a ride sorted finally.

Got an 01 X11 done 9,000km and in mint condition, but I will soon fix that.

Often referred to as a naked Blackbird, though in reality there is very little that is the same. The front forks and the brakes are about it, though it does use the awesome 1100cc motor from the blackbird. The motor has had a surplus balance shaft removed and has been retuned to provide more torque and over a wider rev range.

This one came with Remus slip on cans (yay not cats) and has just recieved a K&N (thanks Lou) and shit does it pull. They have a 5 speed box, honda blurb says that you don't need a 6 speed as you not going to be doing 300 anyway on a naked bike. Quite frankly I seriously don't know what you would do with the 6th gear as the torque band is so wide.

Because of the shape of the instruments you get very little wind blast at speeds up to 180kmh apparently after about this speed the air dam colapses and your arms get longer in a big hurry. Will let you know in due course.

The weight seems to be quite low so although it is not light (about 225kg) it feels a lot lighter than the bird and is a real hoot on the corners. The Blackbird was all serious, you set the corner and forget it and the bird just went round. On this you can alter line and play slalem with potholes mid corner if you want.

On the down side, they are butt ugly from the front, but hey that's ok as mostly you will be seeing it from the back anyway.

    Yeah wouldn't miss it.
Had a blast last time, only problem was too much track time, I didn't get time to rest between sessions.

    That's at least 2 X11's in NZ.
Feels great riding something that you don't see 100's of every day.

Fix what, putting more kms on it, or making it less mint, by looping it?

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
