Newbie rider here have ordered my first bike Hyosung GT250R will be here in a couple of weeks.
Now i just need my learners so I can ride it any one people would reccomend in Auckland ??

Before y'can get your Learners you need to get your Basic Handling Test. Once you've got that the learners is just a scratch and win Road Code test at any AA centre. They're all the same so just the closest one.
If you need info on the Basic Handling Test, just do a site search it's been covered umpteen times.

For restricted Quay St AA is great. Nice old guy who has ridden for roughly 30-40 years and can tell if you are capable at a distance.

These handling school guys will often have loan bikes available for a small fee so you don't need to wait for yours. It's not legal for you to ride to the course any way.

When I went and did my basic handling skills they give you a bike to use?
You can do it on a scooter, I did this cos I didn't really have much bike experience.
Was a peice of piss though, locked up the front wheel on the scooter cos I was used to the CG drum though.

Try the Auckland Motorcycle Club in Ellerslie, I did my basic handling there...they had a little CT100? that I zoomed around on...about $40 from memory for the test, great guys and was easy even though I hadn't been on a bike for about 5 years
Experience is a hard teacher...she gives the test first and the lesson afterwards.

yea only round the block though (as I don't have my licence yet) being a noobie I can't say I can give a good comparison to anything really...But I did ride a RGV250 and I would say that I felt alot more comfortable on the GT250R Obviusly the seating position is alot more upright!!! but just the balance of it made me feel more in control. I can't wait to get it though hanging out for that first cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my GT250R, everyone keeps on saying it, one of the most comfortable rides i've come across. Wait until you get it on the open road, the handling will surprise you.

I reccomend RideSafe for the basic handling skills test. The dude that runs the course (Lee I think his name was...) is a really nice guy. I've sent plenty of people to him and they all had positive comments.
After you do that you just need to go to the AA for the scratch&win test.
Then you're on the road an ready to go!

I can strongly recommend Phillip McDaid at Rider Skills. He operates every weekend at a business car park in Rosebank Road. My lady went to him a couple of weeks ago and he was excellent. He has a couple of practically new GN125's and a GN250 also new. He charges only $99.00 for the training and the test and it doesn't matter how long it takes you to learn it's still only $99.00. He's also a Kiwi Biker, I believe he went on the noobie ride a couple of weeks ago. I think his name on KB is Rider Skills and I believe he has a web site http://www.riderskills.co.nz/
