Good observation scumdog and I have noticed more HD riders seem to wave these days- and not with one or two fingers extended.
But I still find it a laugh to see some of these rich blokes on expensive Harleys with pristine riding leathers still smelling all fresh from the shop, with perfect creases, that have never had a bug splat. How can that be? Still as you say they could be doing worse and they are supporting our fav industry.
Always remember the surprise on a tough Guy HD rider's face when I stopped to help him when he had broken down in the wilds. Why did you stop he asked.

Then I realised that however 'poser' type they seemed to be their heart was in the right place - they could have been doing some other more profitable and 'politically correct' hobby but they chose this, their love (?) of all things H-D related.
Never heard 'other brands' being denigrated, never saw a fight or serious argument and met a shit load of friendly types ( even if they spoke 'proper') and some were no doubt earning 10 times or more of my income - and nobody said 'just a Sportster eh'

800+ bikes went on a 30km+ Thunder Ride, nobody was behaving like a dick, nobody fell off and the public were out big-time to wave and cheer.

    Time for another Bundy.
Oh have you only got a sportster I didn't realise LoL

I believe the right term for a lot of Harley (and some non-Harley) riders is "poseur" - a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not

    bling for you.

A friend of mine went down, he is the classic born again biker, hit 50, bought a Fat Boy (he is quite a big lad too). He said he was initially a bit nervous, but ended up having a GREAT time. He also commented on the large amount of HD branding going on. Apparently he was one of the few without any.

Hmm, had a look at my gear - one small 'Sportster' badge on my jacket lapel, one small H-D badge (along with a shit-load of other random badges, Britten, Ford, N.Z.D.A. etc) on my denim vest.

Oh. My 'shorty' helmet but you have to look hard.

So I guess I lag a bit when it comes to H-D branding?.

HD is a HUGE Brand. Friends of mine have personally met Willie G and own autographed waistcoats, jkts you name it! I love Harleys but don't feel the need to advertise it all over my clothing! What I ride says it for me.
Next year its in Akld and hope to meet ya there Scumdog! Rashika is gonna come up for it ( well she blimmin better or there'll be trouble ). Hey did ya get a complimentary poster advertising the Akld Rally? I am responsible for that!

Dunno. Bad if I want to be 'trendy'. Good if I don't want to be seen as a poseur.
Never been one who wants to keep up with the Jones's or thought too much about my appearance, maybe I need to look at myself a bit harder????

And what, may I ask, is wrong with the 750?
