need new big end for gn250

my gn250 has got a stuffed big end bearing the mechanic whose fixing it for me thought he could get the parts for it as a copy rather than genuine suzuki parts so i wouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg. turns out i am told that all the wholesalers he rang don't bring it in anymore meaning i can only get the genuine suzuki parts which are well over double the price i'm hapyy to buy these but not if i don't need to....

my question is does anybody here maybe work in a shop that would have it out back somewhere gaining cobwebs..... or is somebody able to bring them in from aus etc.... or is my only option to now go for the genuine parts?..

as it needs i am told a new pin bearing and conrod

Not sure what sure what she was planing on doing with her wrecked bike.
As she has a brand new GN250 now.

hey crashe good to hear from ya....i'm needing new parts though takes alot longer to do if your taking parts out of things first....means i have to pay the mechanic more....but thanks anyway ...

ps. you were wrong about autosol it made my engine covers gleam like almost chrome....

you have to give them a sand with fine grit sandpaper..i used 600 need to get some finer stuff....

get all the marks off then use auto sol and it gleams like chrome nearly just not quite so mirrorlike but damn shiny like it's just polished hard out it looks awesome...while the motors apart im going to get the covers and do them completely itll be pimpin then lol ...

something for you to do while your healing up aye crashe....and whats the story with the cops....post that up in your other thread if there has been any developments?

Drop an XR600 into it

on a side note, i've heard that a DR350 head bolts straight on, so the chances are the DR250 is basiclly the same engine, just something else to look out for.

theres a point i mean i can get the genuine suzuki parts but thats like $250 in comparision to the brand new copy ones for $100 which i am told nobody is bringing in anymore which makes no sense as the bike is still currently manufactured so youd think they would still bring em in

Ought to be plenty of GN250 cranks in the wreckers, they've been around long enough . And it's pretty easy to tell if a crank assembly is good or not. According to my parts book, the conrods are not the same between the GN250 and DR250 though that doesn't meant they won't fit, might just be different balancing or such like.
