BP Ultimate - 98 fuel for small bike?

    Hi all!
Just wanted to ask, if filling my GN250 2005 with BP Ultimate will make any difference? Or it may even make it worse?
I mean, I just wanted to try, maybe it would clean the engine or maybe I'll feel the difference, but worried, maybe it can spoil the engine or something? Or maybe after that Ginny would said - "Hey dude, I like it, I'm not gonna eat 91 octane anymore, give me some more Ultimate" ...
    What do you think?

you can try it, but it won't really make much difference.

I reckon you'll feel bugger all difference ... but will pay for the priviledge.

Give it a go - run your bike right down to reserve (and then some?!?) and throw $5 of 98 in. It'll be a blend of the old and new, so won't be pure 98... but you'll get a good feel for it.

It won;t cost you much, and you won't have to put up with any hassles for too long if your bike don't like it. You choose what you want to do after that...

Cheers and let us know how you get on

Makes mine tighter.... I see the price of 98 and my wallet clams up like my sphincter after curry night.

Won't do much mate. Just use 91
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I have never filled with it from dead empty so can't really say... some of my HD riding mates swear by it. There must be something to it cos 1 of my buddies has a KTM motorcross bike which he races and KTM advised him to use the BP Ultimate instead of av-gas...

You are wasting your money with 98, the bike was designed to run on 91 and unless you are running higher than standard compression you certainly don't need a higher octane fuel. Spend money on other stuff!

    Suck it and see.
The Blackbird ran sweeter (better low torque) and was cheaper to run on 98.
That said the cage only gets a whisker better milage and no discernable improvement in power.

My cbr runs smother and pulls abit harder on 98. Also seems to run well on 95.
But runs like a hairy bit of crap on 91

I run my ZX4R on 98.... don't see much difference in price because of the higher efficiency, but the power was a lot better.

Was a bit sluggish on the 91 I was using before, but now has more low down power on tap.

And what's all this talk about price? If you were worried about price you need to go get yourself a 1.0L Nissan March!
