Yup. And if the pictures themselves don't make people stop and think and ease back on that twisty thing : try imagining your mother/wife/partner/father/husband/whatever having to go along to the morgue and identify you - when you're looking like that.

Well the ones who were in pieces, absoloutely nothing.

There were a few pictures of riders that had sustained quite nasty injuries, I believe a decent jacket with armour, leather pants with hardcore knee protectors and a quality pair of boots, plus a good back protector, would of reduced the severity of the injury.

Take for example my bin on Mark's pitbike last night, if I had of been wearing knee pads I wouldn't have a chunk of skin missing. My helmet and jacket handled just fine, however my elbow is slightly bruised.

If I was in a leather jacket/nothing else I don't think my elbow would be "just bruised". More likely a broken/chipped bone.

Uh, some of those guys were in several pieces? The photo shows the pieces, with the guy's helmet in the centre. One had a helmet,it ended up stuck in the grille of the truck . One was decapitated. Helmet stayed on, head didn't. Magic gear may help, won't guarantee.

    Shit happens.

I ride because its not stressful, I enjoy every minute of it, even the scary near-fuckups upon reflection (and a change of underwear).

Personally, I don't see the point in worrying too much. If you have the right gear, that is the best you can do.

I'm getting a little sick of crash pictures to be honest. I've seen enough of the real thing and THAT never stopped me riding.

I agree with point that trying to be made here, but I don't agree that such graphic pictures are the way to achieve that. Promoting biker safety is one thing but posting a link to such graphic and disturbing pictures is another.

FF,RR,SM and others have a job that I do not envy. I'll help out as much as I can but I couldn't take seeing that regularly. You guys have the utmost respect for the essential work you do. Thanks.
