    RG150E engine rebuild???

    Hi all

I'm thinking seriously about a bike that's done 23,500km (RG150E) and I've heard that they need a rebuild every 20000km - 30000km... Can anyone give me an idea of how much these engine rebuilds cost?

    The listing is:

    Thanks

RZ500 will run you around $3000 if done halfway properly RG150, less than that. Why don't you ring a bike shop?

I wish I knew someone would do a complete RZ500 rebuild for only $3K.

Obviously, more cylinders, and bigger, costs more.

For a 150, top end only, if the barrel is Ok, maybe $500. Maybe less depending on how fussy you are about replacing stuff while its in bits

Ah, but how do you manage to get them? I just wish I could get parts from Thailand over for my bike, it's around $45 for each piece of aftermarket fairing, $10 and less for a screen.... If only I could get them

I don't think I'll be racing my dear RG. Prehaps someday when I get an RGV. Cause I doubt mine'll be worth much when I'm done with it.

But I'm very interested in performance parts. Mine's quick enough off the mark, but I think it's lacking in the top end department. I can only get 170 indicated, which is likely ~<150 (60k=50k traffic, ~120k=100k traffic, I'm assuming it's a fairly linear relationship)

How many revs is it doing at the indicated 170?

If its doing 12K then you will need to change the gearing to get any faster.
