Servicing for NC30, where to go???

I'm about to book my NC30 in for a service but after reading some theads on here, I'm a bit hesitant as to where I should take it. I bought it a few months ago and am unsure of its service history so want a thorough job done. It will probably be going on the student loan so I'm willing to pay a bit more for better quality work. I'd prefer to do the work myself but don't have the tools/knowledge so if anyone does and wants to make some $$$/beer I'd love to learn. Any advice would be much appreciated.

ain't too hard to service a bike yourself. There's plenty of knowledge on the good ol' 'net to read up on, and there's plenty of KBer's around dorkland to help you out. What area are you in? If you're over the shore at any time, I don't mind having a look for ya, and won't take too long to service a bike

but if you want a proper look over ie inside the engine and are paying for it, Kerry at Motohaus is a guy every one rates!

The knowledge can be found in the Haynes manual, which you can get a technical bookstore to order in for you. It is Haynes book no. 3496 , ISBN 1 85960 496 X . Also google for one of
VFR400R_C01.pdf VFR400R_C03.pdf VFR400R_C07.pdf VFR400R_C12.pdf VFR400R_C15.pdf . Naughty PDFs of the Honda manual.

Confidence and skill to do it yourself though only come with time. Start with oil/filter changes and work you way up from there.

Yeah, I got the haynes manual - it works a treat - serviced my bike a few weeks ago - runs much nicer - it's good to see green in the radiator rather than rust....I did my entire service in bad light with a portable fluro lamp - doing it by daylight would have been of benefit...Radiator flush and oil change are pretty hard things to fuck up.....especially if you stick to the manual...

Cheers for the advice guys, I got myself the Haynes manual so (time permiting) am going to have a crack at a basic service this weekend.

Hi Vegan. Yeah I'm at UoA. I'm the black and grey NC30 with a pac rack. Don't have a usual parking spot but I'll keep an eye out for you next week.

I get my Honda serviced at Cyclespot.

The service manager there is fairly switched on and he does do a lot of the work himself, not just supervision.

Also I have been impressed with their charging, no bad surprises, mostly the other way actually.
