ok, we've established that my RG eats yours, but what about the real test?

I know it's entirely in your memory - but - CBR vs RG?

most people bitching about the people criticising 90 in a 50 are misreading the argument
it's not the fact that he was speeding, it's the fact that if he'd gone to a 100k zone where he could have quite legally gone 90 or even 100k/h (if the rg goes that fast...)

At the end of the day can anyone here say they have not broken the law at all??? Yes I'd say that doing that speed in a built up area was unwise but I'd suspect the culprit has learned his lesson and is unlikely to do it again. Having to loose the licience and fork out that much cash would bite. Dunno why people are getting so judgemental here, makes a worse place than what it actually needs to be...:slap:

RG, quicker off the mark. CBR, gets to top speed faster. That's the very basic analysis

And no more RG bashing! They could beat a fair few bikes on a twisty road with the right rider, and they are pretty damn quick for their size

So 93 in a 50 is dangerous - everywhere? All the time? beleive in the tooth fairy too, do you.
NOT every 50 k zone is a suburban street thronged with hordes of kiddies chasing balls onto the street............many are more open and less populated than 100 k zones in the McKenzie country. A typical "blanket" reaction favoured by , oh so many people, because an authority has deemed it so!

Lotsa industrial areas in Dorkland, even these days pretty well deserted at weekends. Wide streets, no side traffic (cos all the factory gates are locked.)100kph ? Say 300, quite safely (insofar as ANY speed is safe ).

But pulling 93kph with the plod right behind- that's not safe . (I assume it wasn't a mufti)

its a 50 zone! thats the speed limit. i cant believe this. there is no gray area. 70 is the very upper limit of how fast you should be going in a 50. up to 70 you are still breaking the law - just not being a complete cock.

at 93 you are breaking the law, you are being a cock annnd you deserved what you got.

i cant believe you guys who say he should have been going faster?! probably the same ones that go into the "biker down" threads and offer condolences. hypocrites.

I've been fair nicked a few times over the years, so I'm not here to judge you mate. Many think of it as a speeding 'tax', shame about demerits these days.

One thing I don't understand though, why do people start posts like this? I mean, you know everyone is going to tell you how much of a plonker you are, what else can be gained from it?

Yes, its the speed limit!...so...in a 100 k limit, because its the limit, you dont go over that?...aaaaaahhhh, but thats different........its away from built up areas......so its ok to go a bit over.....
Im all for people using their eyes and the brain one hopes they have been endowed with and actually assessing ALL situations, then acting appropriately. - regardless of blanket laws made by authorities.
What is the saying about laws, rules and regulations...."for the guidance of wise men and the blind obediance of fools"....

And who was saying he should have been going faster?
In this case he was a tit and deserved to get what he got!.

Damn straight. I did the crime, I'm doing the time. Not much more too it than that.

I agree entirely with the rules, just perhaps not the penalty.

This isn't a sob story, but it would have got out somehow, and all the better to have it straight up.
