NOT every 50 k zone is a suburban street thronged with hordes of kiddies chasing balls onto the street............many are more open and less populated than 100 k zones in the McKenzie country. A typical "blanket" reaction favoured by , oh so many people, because an authority has deemed it so!

Exactly - I'm quite happy to admit that I often do 100-150km in 50 zones - ie it's 2am, industrial area on a Tuesday morning - safer than the motorway due to the lack of cars etc.....

Okay - so which street in Upper Hutt was it?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Moonshine, right in front of us at school. All of a sudden I hear sirens behind me and there he is with a highway patrol car. I knew it was gonna happen after riding with him a few times, just didn't think he'd lose his licence so quick

    Hondas obviously suck.

And on another note I was 1kmh away from a nice walk on my first ticket, but not as 'silly' circumstances. I realise how easy it is to speed creep when you ain't fully concentrating. Just ride it out and learn a lesson that there is a time and place for everything.

Theres a certain street in industrial Orkland, that Im sure is a 50K zone, yet, last time I was there, with about 40 other KB'ers, I'm sure the speeds were rather in excess of that posted limit......not to mention the attitudes of said two wheeled conveyances...........seem to recall the occasional car and things......people on the footpath......
    Nah....musta been dreaming...........

If you were outside a school then I can't seem to raise much in the way of sympathy.

At the same time, I have done some stupid things in my life and I doubt I have finished yet. I hope you are able to take something positive out of the whole experience.

Lucky no one was hurt and it's only 28 days without your bike and 164 shifts at Macas.

Damn right! His bike revs so hard, it's almost impossible not be in too low a gear. I was cuising to his place at 9,000rpm+ most of the way. And he has lower profile tyres so it tips in so quick

Shit, you must of had at least 20 secs in which to get to 93kph to realise that it was a silly idea?
