I've done 200 on a naked bike (statute of limitations has run out ), is OK, you just tuck in and keep your head down. So the top of your head is into the wind blast, not your face. No load on neck that way. Can't see where you're going , is only downside, but, hey...

Yes, understand. I was just suggesting that nmaybe 650 or 900cc is a bit overkill to do 3.6km. Presumably, all in a 50kph area.

What's with all the advice to get a Motard?
10 minutes on that and he'll need a hysterectomy.
Streetfighters are mens bikes. It'll straighten him out.
He might even be able to keep up with old farts on warehouse bikes.
    (no offence there beyond)

    No offence taken Lou

Hey Finn, why don't you run it? Might be quicker in the end you reckon and a pair of running shoes won't set you back as much.

There's just something very wrong with "running" to work. The inference that I want to get there in such a hurry might give people the wrong idea.

There's something inherrently wrong with running. In nature the only time an animal runs is to catch something to eat or avoid being another creatures lunch...

Cobblers, haven't you ever seen horses, or dogs running together just for the fun of it?

Man of extremes eh... Streetfighter busa? Not really much time to warm up though Ducati Monster? Or the Aprilia Tuono would be leet. A supermotard or a twin really sounds like the best option.

    MV Agusta Brutale 910

With an all new 910cc engine, the MV Agusta Brutale 910 has 70.8 ft. lbs. of torque, and 136 horsepower! Visually, the 910 is similar to the 750 in terms of color schemes (except with the addition of the 910 logo on the tank), and a tachometer with a new numerical scale and Brutale Logo

The 909.1 cc engine follows the same characteristics as the 750EV, but features new updates that are similar to those on the F4 1000. The increase comes from the increase in bore and stroke (73.8mm to 76mm, and from 43.8mm to 50.1mm). Although there is an increase in capacity, there is no increase in engine size externally.

    Brutale 910S Brutale 750S
    Capacity 909.1cc 749.4cc
    Compression Ratio 13:1 12:1
    Bore and Stroke 76.0mm x 50.1mm 73.8mm x 43.8mm
    Max Power 136 HP @ 11,000 rpm 127 HP @ 12,500 rpm
    Max Torque 70.8 ft. lb. @ 7,900 rpm 57 ft. lb. @ 10,500 rpm
    Primary Drive Ratio 50/79 47/81
    Final Drive Ratio 15/43 14/41
    Speed Ratio 16/34 14/31

Other additions (similar to the F4 1000S) are the adjustable footpegs, quick-release rear sprocket, and the 120/70 ZR 17 front tire. The frame is still the only four-cylinder production category to be made from chrome-molybdenum steel tubing. 50 mm Marzocchi Magnum hydraulic forks with rebound-compression in the front, and Sachs single shock absorber with rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustment in the rear.

Two specially made six-piston (opposed) "Nissin F4" calipers for front breaking, and the Nissin F4 unit with a four-piston (opposed) caliper in the rear
