    Arrow FXR150 riders! Please help!!!

    Hi all.

So I've been having a blast on my new fxr150 all day and when I went to go for another ride (20 minutes ago...) I noticed that there was no light for the speedo and I can't read the speedo at all at night...

The previous owner has never had lights on the dashboard either so I'm just wondering if this is the norm for fxr150 or there are indeed lights behind the speedo that's been dead for a very long time...

Can anyone tell me if the speedo on the fxr150s light up at night? If so, do you know if the lights are hard to get to?

    Cheers

Yes the FXR should have a light to make reading the speedometer at night possible. If it is not working then the bulb or something else related is obviously not functioning and needs to be repaired or replaced.

I am not aware of any motorcycle having a seperate switch to enable the dashboard lights.

Yes, there are lights, they are pretty simple little things, just whip the side fairings off, and you can see the instrument panel, whip the back off it, and you will see the bottom of the bulbs, pull them out, check the filament,

It is unusual for NONE to be going, normally only one or two would blow, so perhaps check fuses, wiring condition etc.

Do your lights work? indicators?? headlights should be all on etc at all times, and the instrument panel should be connected to that

Cool Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow...

When you said side fairing, do you mean the whole front fairing? I just had a look at it and I'm not sure how I'd get to it with the side fairing removed.....

All my lights work, as well as the indicator and the indicator light on the dash board and the high beam indicator and the neutral indicator are working. Its just the illumination light for the speedo that's not working.

    Thanks

You have to remove the two side fairings (with FXR on them) to allow the top fairing to come off, then you can remove the instrument panel. In saying that, you may be able to access the instrument panel through by the front forks, but I wouldn't rate your chances as high, I think there is a backing cover on the panel anyway, so you have to remove the whole thing.

Just out of curiousity, any FXR riders ever wondered what "Endah alam sekatar" (written on the fuel tank) means???

I know, And if no one else does, I'll let the cat out of the bag... its such a let down!!

Thanks a lot, hopefully I won't be too busy tomorrow and will have some time work on the bike...

Damn it, I can't believe I bought something with environmentally friendly written on it.... today one of my friends read the "cybernetic sports" (I think that's what it says) in american accent and it was the most gay sounding thing I've heard in a while.... now where's that can of spray paint......

Well I had some spare time today and I found the troublesome bulbs... somehow out of the 6 bulbs on the dashboard those two were the only ones gone... now just have to go out and get some replacements.
