Eh? (Please note correct spelling of the interogative.)

If you are a politician maybe you need to disclose your assets.
The annual "Rich List" is only educated guesswork.

Not that any of this will ever bother me...

I do not believe that to be a true statement. Please back it up.

I wonder if this means some of the Charities can stop hassling me for cash everytime I go to the local supermarket.

I don't mind giving a few buck here and there when I can, but I'm amazed at the amount of charities that want you to set up a AP and give them atleast $30 amonth.

I disagree. From memory the PMB was one of the marginal jealous shouters (Winston First? Maaaaari party?). There is no political will to reintroduce it or anything like it. Even if it was Labour policy I doubt they could muster a majority on it, and National would be committing political suicide by supporting anything like it. There is no political gain to be had for anyone by doing it. There was also a proposal that private companies over a certain threshold would become subject to the same disclosure as applies for a public company. It was set at a relatively low threshold, and would have meant that companies like Ballantynes would have had to take their pants down in public.

If I might venture a personal opinion, people should be more concerned with making sure that they can get their heads down and bum up and earn some decent coin, instead of being jealous of someone who does. That is of course the basis of the disparity between the company tax rate (33) and the top marginal tax rate of 39.

the extra 6c makes very little impact on my lifestyle, but it fucking well irks me every time I make a tax payment. Which I do with monotonous regularity.

    Now the rant:

When I am in charge (sooooon) there will be a long list of people up against the wall, a complete ban on inherited wealth, and a flat tax of 20c in the dollar to fund essential stuff like Pleece and Army. No one will be allowed to vote, or become a citizen until they have served the country in some way, and they own real property. Those persons will be issued automatic weapons and free ammunition so as to protect their property.

A heavily armed society will be a polite society.

there will be no speed limits, but pleece will be able to enforce the existing careless, reckless dangerous provisions.

No demerit points, you either have a licence or not, based on your abilities, and if you are fined you get to nominate which social service you will support.

    :tongue in cheek:
