New Daytona Manufactured '03 arrived in NZ '05 with a small number of others .....all yellow I believe and I believe they came from Europe......going cheaper that normal. Travelled 4600km hadn't riden for about 10 days, went to go fro a ride...wouldn't start, trailered to dealer, compression at 50psi per 3 pots and failed leak test 100%. They found a powder like corrosion around inlet valve area.....cleaned , got going now 2 weeks on back to shop as smoking blue on start up, idle and when you give throttle a twist 5000 - 6000rpm, wife even noticed when I started it up and said what is that horrible smell, you know the smell the smell of a tired motor burning oil!!!! Shop is waiting approval from UK to delve into problem. I am wishing I didn't selling my '02 Daytona to my mate. At 4600km I think I should be in for a new bike????? ANY THOUGHTS
