Ok ok, slow learner here.
What tyres do I want for the X11?

Had Avon Azaro's on the Blackbird, they lasted well and the grip was good, let go a couple of times in the wet, but only when really feeding the fat. Lasted about 8,500km before I totalled the bike and looked like they were half worn.

I have Avon Vipers on there at the moment. Lasted 5,000km (rear) excellent tyre, bike is totally predictable and confidence inspring. Can't say what they are like in the wet cause it has been dry virtually the whole time. Why would I change then? Well 5,000km is about 3 months riding and I am too tight. Plus I want to try others.

Thinking about Pirelli Diablo strada. Any comments on these?
Any other recommendations?

We put Stradas onto Duc-Gurl's TL...worst possible choice ever for wet roads!!!
Incredible tyre wear..but wouldn't recommend as an all round tyre

Now see that is the type of thing it is good to know, especially coming into winter.

Pilot Powers are a great tyre. I've got a set on the K6 and have got at least 6500k's out of them with a bit to go, but I ride like a poof.

How are they on damp or wet roads? I have heard they are better than Vipers in the wet.

They seemed fine when it pissed on us up north over the weekend, but we weren't giving it tits in the wet, I think the norvern monkeys are scared of rain.

I commute on them and the only complaint I have had is when I lit it up on a cats eye on the motorway, it made me pucker up a little but other than that they have been pretty sweet.

Those cats eyes are real naughty. Not good in the dry either when you cross them at 45%.

Cautious might be a better description ya floppy cucumber..you're just pssiy cause JSG passed ya and I never saw ya when I decided it was time to up the pace...
Anywho...I had Pilot Powers on my gixxer,rode it pretty bloody hard at times,cruised the rest,wet and dry conditions,with and without tread/rubber ... and rate them as the best all round tyre I've tried thus far.

Just over 4000 on the rear which would've been 40% "cruising" and 60% yeeha.
Never did find out about the front one as bike got traded....up.
Very even tyre wear too.

Ahem...

I've said it before, and will say it again. Metzeler Roadtec Z6s are a most impressive sport touring tyre. Wet and dry, they are superb. All you need on the X11 are sports tourers, unless you're doing serious track time. I've run out three sets of these on a Kawasaki ZRX1200R and two on my ST1300. I can't fault them.

Conti Road Attacks are worth a look as well. I am currently checking out size availability and may try a set at my next change.
