    !
I have a couple of contacts in rotary and the lions. Is that the sort of thing you're after? I'll ask if you haven't already approached them.

Uh-huh. Payment in advance eh, Ms Riff-raff. Next time you get called out to pick up a crashed biker, make sure they've got their credit card handy before you start tending to them. No cash/card, leave 'em to die.

St John's are probably the most hard working under stated organisation in NZ. If you don't want to donate them at least join them. Y'get a free ambo ride if you do too (when required) . Should be good value for some on this site.

I was also reliably informed that the figure is probably well below par.
I think saint johns does a great job, still confused on the ins and outs of it all, in an accident situation it is supposed to be no liability due to ACC, who pays for the meatwagon ride?

Does consumer only pay if they are unfortunate enough to suffer from asthma, or similiar, and be single, or low enough in the socio economic ladder that they can't afford a car?

I never got a bill when I had my one and only ambulance ride, (which I was very grateful for!)

    Cheers!!
This is a seperate can of worms, and I am not saying it because I want to trace every cent of funding. But isn't one of the requirements of being a registered charitable trust open reports?

I know in the real world, every single charitable organisation is simply an organisation that is 39% more tax effective than an organisation that is not, but should Charities run this way? When a charity is worried about clientelle and market share, and activly markets itself to keep these things, doesn't that signify something isn't quite right?

Shouldn't the focus be on the service (hence funding new Ambo stations) rather than the business (not for) profit etc?

I know its always a mixed bag, because marketing ensures awareness, which ensures funding, which ensures the ability to deliver the service...

What is St Johns core business now?
