Well of course, it is still quite possible to work in an office and still ride to work. Many bikers are bikers 7 days a week. Or, at any rate miss only the odd day.

When the old NZED hostel in Omarama became available for sale at reasonable $$$$ I had a thought of buying it and establishing a sort of Mecca for motorcycles.
Kind of like a permanent rally or cafe stopover for bikers!
Still like the idea and the increase in value would have made it worth while just to have a go, don't think I would have lost money even if it didn't work.
20/20 hindsight again, just lacked the balls to do it. Cheers John.

My God. I used to do audits of that place a few years back when I was with Electricorp... err, ECNZ... err Meridian... err they must be due for another change. 1988 to about 1992. I suppose it's the same place. Just off the left of the main road as you come in from the Kurow end?

Many, but not the majority i would think.That dose,nt make the ones who leave there riding till the weekends any less enthusiastic.

No, though perhaps less exposed to the mercies of commuting cages. But you are quite correct that some bikers are proscribed.

Though I wonder how many bosses would have to nerve to lay down a strict "no motorcycles for commuting" rule. I would dearly have loved to have one of them try that on some-one when I was a union delegate. Wherez me flat cap. All out bruvvers, until management apologise for their their truculent antiworker aggression.
