If you do more than 100k damage to a car you aren't going to be worried about 3rd party insurance.

In fact you wont be worrying about anything at all ever again.

    re bike insurers

I did get a quote from Kiwi Bike ins. to insure my ER6 but ended up with CLASSIC.
Would like to use this to plant some free plugs for this company. The ladies were ever so friendly and helpfull, the price is right I am paying $408.90 per annum for a brand new $ 11000 bike excess 500 for accident 1000 for theft.

BUT, as we all know the proof of how good an insurance company is comes out when you have a claim and here is where I can sing a definite song of praise.
Classic at this stage had not even cashed my cheque when I got whacked 11 days after I picked the bike up. They paid up and never tried to go stingy on me. Anything that had the slightest scratch on it got replaced by brandnew items no questions asked and they gave me the money for a new brainbucket the instant my house-content insurance turned me down. Looks like I am gonna stay with CLASSIC for a while.

Second this; these guys are great to deal with and saved me heaps. Even set up my temporary cover for me while I was driving back from Aucks. Excellent service and great price (but you need to be 30 or over)

Great to deal with too :-)

Well of the 3 different options they came up with for me the best one was still $250 MORE expensive than Protector. Maybe if I talked to them on the blower I might be able to get a better deal??? (somehow I doubt it...)

    yep, maybe.
I got some quotes last year from them, they weren't too bad but still a bit more expensive than David Golightly...but it is always worth a revisit!

Aye cause via Dave (Kiwi Bike In $308 via Swann) it was a fair bit less for me than Vero, which was done via David Golightly ($422). SO the moral of this story folks is ta shop around, aye.

Then you have to compare plans as well.
I think my excess is only $500...whereas others are *mostly* $1000...and who can find 1K that quickly? Not me thats for sure

Have done. Swann (via Kiwi Bike In) First claim excess is $500, for Vero (via David Golightly) was $700 (for me, have had a past claim 2yrs ago for a bike Insured with FMI). Both are $1000 for Theft Excess (pays ta read ya policy every now and again, aye ). Do ya think I would be changing if my cover was not at least matching my excessing Insurance? I think not.

And yes I am still covered for Track Training Days (as long as there is someone Instructing me at the track amd it is not a "timed" event). Point to be made with that is that I am not covered by ether Policy for open track days or racing. If there was Instructing at KB Track Days, I be covered (but would still be prudent ta check with my agent before any Track Day). Just something ya want ta check before ya put ya "baby" on a track, aye.

    fer sure
actually David was talking about getting training days set up with the insurance co paying most of the cost, dunno what has come of that...
I used to be with Swann for ages with my other bike, but this time (last year that was) they came out waaaaay more expensive than other co's ...dunno why? So getting more quotes, just to see again
