Hmmm interesting. Certainly sounds like its a nice looking bike then.
Crusier is incorrect spelling if thats what you were refering to?

Yup. A Kiwibiker praks his sprotbike in the gargre next to the crusier.
Oh, Sk8r_Boi what a debt we owe you.

The eliminator is smaller than the others I think so may not suite you. Have a look if you can find one. Heaps of inline twins but the v-twin version is rare.

My boss bought a V Star last year. When i saw it parked up outside work i thought it was alot bigger than a 250. Had plenty of room on it(im a large 6 ft). Only thing i didnt like was the fact everything was rubber mounted, including the bars, feels quite weird when you can move the bars, with nothing else moving.
My EL250 always gets mistaken for a 600cc+. Ive had it up to $130 with a 95kg rider, so not bad for a 2fiddie. Still had a bit left in it too.
Im 5' 10" and can sit with flat feet on the ground - so may be too small for you.
Theres an EL250 and VN250 on Tardme at the mo.
Cheers everyone.
I've learnt a lot in this thread. KB appears to be one big in joke, but I'm getting there :P
Kawasaki VN250 is pretty much the only 6spd in the 250 cruiser bunch from what I can tell. I also think its the most powerful?
Anyway, better go get my learners asap. Just revising the biker road code etc.
another typo? did you mean KB is one big in-breeding?Originally Posted by krad_nz

Hi,
about the Hyosung GV250 - you enquired about mine...
Still a head turner, and I haven't yet had any of the problems my colleagues at work have had with cage drivers - maybe a solid bloke in black on a cruiser is intimidating!
I've done over 2000k (500k per month). Easy to get up to 100, a lot more effort/patience to get it much higher, but there are still plenty of rev range (power band up to 9-10,000, and I usually don't take it above 8,000 - run-in habits I suppose) - you could cruise on the flat at 110, and I've had it to 120. Still - got to be better than a Suzuki GT. I'm 5'10, 100kgs, though not too long in the leg. The riding position is comfortable, no excessive vibrations. Regrding tall people - you'll just have to try it. I can put both feet down flat while seated.
I bought a very nice jacket and saddlebags inexpensively from trademe (Auckland dealer for Shoo), and the bags bungy on (make up a plastic bungy set, not the metal catches) and look cool. Handles well, comfy to ride, easy controls, finding first/neutral can be a bit dodgy at times (though I'm told that may correct itself during wear-in - yeah right!). Fuel gauge none too accurate at the top end, and the trip odo is very useful. Around 22kpl, but its running a little rich at the moment.
I don't know how standard it is - but every service needs a valve adjustment - and thats $200.
Its been off the road for 4 weeks - rear wheel bearing collapsed and several parts needed. Apparently unusual. Dealer/distributor not very co-operative (I couldn't put it in for repairs at the dealer I brought it at, and that made a BIG difference.) Despite how the Wellington dealers says they have very few needing repairs, I keep hearing stories of how people have had them into the shop several times already.
There's a problem with a flat spot just under 6000rpm- which apparently is fixed by cutting the green wire to the CDI (in the US they've been replacing the CDI, but apparently there are about 5 different models....). Its a bit of a pain, but not dangerous.
My real purchase choice was this or a Savage 650. Reliability will be the answer, and not looking good so far - but only one real, unique, problem.
Hope this helps!
