I rode from North AK to south HB yesterday on the ZXR. It drizzled off and on to Tokaroa, then PISSED from there to Dvirke, oh yeah, add in heavy fog and it was dark from Taupo!
The Napier Taupo was so foggy you could only see one road marker ahead, if you were lucky. Fuck the kit kat, give me the whole bloody factory!
Still wont help too much if he aint wearing his waterproof pants which was the main prob, I find my ten dollar wharehouse pants keep my boots dry enough, just they aint quite long engough in the crotch to ankle zone and the bottom of my jeans gets wetOriginally Posted by Ixion

I saw at least 4 hard bastards going along Hillsborough Road this morning (Whilist I was snug in the car) I didn't envy them lane splitting or riding in the downpour, but at least they wouldn't have been late for work!
i take the bike in every day, my only other option is the bus and I'd rather walk than use the bus, I hate buses.
Today was fucking terrible man, I was almost tempted to travel down the right hand hard shoulder just so I could get to work quicker.........![]()

No viagra needed for me mate! Couldn't wait to try out my new wet-weather trou!!!! Verdict: primo! arrived at work toasty warm and dry-as-a-bone! They are alpine trou from Bivouac and the rain just beads and runs off! And this arvo I am heading down to Road&Sport for another service... bad weather? Bring it on!
...it is better to live 1 day as a Tiger than 1000 years as a sheep...
The rain's not a real problem if you've got good gear. I arrived at work drier than the poor mofos here that took their cars then had to walk to the office in the rain.
The problems I have with wet days are visibility (partially fixed by a fresh application of Plexus to the visor before I leave); slippery roads (take a bit more care); and stupid car drivers (ride around them as much as possible).
However, wet days offer the biggest potential for saving time travelling, as the traffic is so thick and slow that anything other than a bike is going to be crawling.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
Saw 2 other bikes on the N Shore today. Traffic even more daft than usual. Does everyone *have* to get in their car when it rains? Are the buses empty on wet days? Are the people who walk down the motorway on dry mornings who have to go by car in the rain? WTF?
Wet days more interesting due to combination of barely-legal front tyre & NS City Council blowing the road-maintenance budget on new slippery paint every-bloody-where. No diesel, but it was hosing down.
Just need to get a narrower bike to maximise time-saving opportunities...

Definately big ups to my new Dririder Jacket, pants and gloves. Completely dry and toasty. Just need to get some antifog shizzle.
