Nah, just add Castrol TTS yum!

We will see a return of many silly gadgets, pills & additives to boost power & mileage. They make their presence every ten years or so. All are predictably snake oil.

Glad to be so well respected.

Which hopefully will help with sales of my new range of fuel boosting additives that should launch onto the market, ohh, about 2:30 this arvo.

Fist is an elixir made from the slime from eels mixed with black ice. Nothing is slipperier & will reduce friction in you engine by 19.5% while adding ozone to the atmosphere.

Next will be my exhaust pipe add-on turbofan that will increase the power of a shitbox starlet to that of a racing V8. But sadly only to the virtual test vehicle we used to make the claims.

Jim2, I'm enjoying your posts on the fuel situation. It's great that there are people around who will do research and obtain an independant view from that of the conglomerates marketing gurus.
    Keep up the good work!

    Bastards.

Went to Hammie in my car yesterday on the new Shell fuel (91 octane).... I recon I used about 1/3 tank more petrol that we would have normally used .

Wonder if Campbell live would be interested in this lol

Sounds like good grounds for a formal complaint to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Advertising Standards Authority. A spanking of some magnitude is in order.

I found the 91 stuff better in my car (by about 16Km's per 40 litre tank) but my bike's now having difficulty cold starting and gets less to a tank. Might try some of the BP stuff in it. Just waiting to get the bash now for getting good fuel results in my car.

My car's NZ new and my Bikes an import. Could that be the difference?

Well it seems like they may have changed something, if the building reports of less mileage under roughly the same conditions turn out to be a true indication of the underlying qualities of the gas in question.

Only BMW as far as I am aware, though that may have changed in the last few years.

Could be, could be. But, uh, just by the way, what was the compression ratio in that tank of yours again
