    First Ride On New MotorCycle

After a three month wait my new bike has arrived. Got it out of the crate and assembled it late last week and got to have a few rides on the weekend in amongst the shite weather. I AM WELL IMPRESSED. The handling is very sharp. Only had it out to 8 grand and theres another 4 to go once it is run in. All round a fun bike to ride. Wasn't to sure about the pillion comfort side of things but after taking the co-pilot for a blast through some nice twisty valleys near home it got the big thumbs up. Heres a few pics.

That must be close to the first new model FZ1 sold in New Zealand. Nice in yellow too.

Just waiting now for a fuller ride review...

As far as I know it is the first one on the road in NZ and we have managed to secure another one as well which is sitting outside my office. It is still for sale as no one knows it is here yet

Love that muffler and the overall look is quite aggressive. Very nice. Only thing I don't like is the headlight but I bet the effect is different in person.

    Bastard!

I've been droolling over that bike for quite some time, quite like the yellow/black colour scheme as well.

Congratulations, no doubt you'll enjoy that bike.

Now that's an interesting comment! Personally, I was just about to ask when you'd be changing the muffler, WaiYam! I don't mind the headlight too much though! Just shows that each to his own when it comes to styling, eh? Overall, I do like the style of the new FZ1's. Don't know what I'd do with all that power though...

I thought the first thing I would do would be to change the muffler. In the flesh it actually suits the bike, just to damm quiet. They have put the ExUp valve behind the clamp as well so you can't just put a slipon onto it.

Henderson Motorcycles have one. I personally have been drooling on it for a couple of weeks now.

But tell me, why would I want to pay $5,000.00 more than a Z1000 Kawasaki?
