I've printed your post and will give Graeme a copy on Monday morning. You lucky bugger, mind you I went to Featherston & back and was home at 5.10. Now I just need to wrangle the $10 I spent on gas.

Be a bugger if the same thing happened on another mint day during the next month while He's away huh?

Yeah he sounds like a complete bastard, you should lodge a personal greivance at once.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Ah well, it's all very well paying for the petrol. But what about the oil? And tyres? and wear and tear? Oh, and of course, boss to pay the rego. And insurance .

And wheres the travel allowance? And the out of town allowance? Phone allowance to call home? And meal money of course.

And of course as union delegate I'd be pointing out that you were entitled to wet weather gear, leathers and boots/gloves/helmet all supplied. Or an allowance in lieu. Tax free.

Now, let's talk about danger money. LTSA statistics show how dangerous it is. And dirt money. Out in all weathers, we'll need a wet weather loading.

I reckon that you actually got home at 6:01 pm. So that classes as a night away, that's an overnight accomodation allowance, more meal money.

Now, about that overtime. Obviously , employer must pay overtime. But , were you given at least two days notice of the need to work overtime? If not, that's a short notice call out allowance. And a minimum of 3 hours at time and a half, plus the half hour at double time, and 4 hours time off the next day.

Gosh I miss those days , that used to be fun.

Oh jee Ixion, you are my hero!
Unions kind of don't have the (commie) clout they used to. I remember looking at a union briefly as a builder and thinking, flip, they can't give me anything I don't already have!!
Does that mean I have a good employer? or does it simply mean uniopns are now toothless beings, because we live in a commie leftist state???
My employer does pay me to ride occasionally, but in a 50 to 60 km zone, it doesn't have the sparkle. And teleconferancing rules out the odd trip to Aucks on the company...
    What am I doing wrong??
