Not with the bike, but work wise yes, went out to Pt Wells today to some floor sanding but trees have taken out power lines and power pole's (those concrete ones) no power no sanding......
Its not cold tho', im still in shorts and tee, maybe if the wind changes direction, like from the south....

You'll get used to it. Rode to werk along the Suouthern. Not too bad, bit breezy.

Y'gotta expect a bit of wind in winter.

Anyone tackle the Harbour Bridge? Lou?

EDIT: Must admit i was a tad nervous about the BMW being blown over in the car park, I had to park in an exposed place and I could feel it rocking as I put it on the stand. But it seems OK.

Commuting in haevy wind is easy when you learn how.

There's a thread in 'survival skills' about it.

I crossed the bridge this morn, no worries at all, 'cos I'm 'ard,

Going home will be the fourth time today. It's OK, a little blustery around 1.00PM.
But it's still better than a bus.

5.30 was fun. No traffic, I could do normal speeds and had the whole lane to get blown around on.
Can we have more power cuts please?

Was nice and quiet yesterday here (although we had power down in the naki). I turned on the television to watch the news and all I saw was a bunch of AKLers spitting the dummy much like Donald Duck does on the cartoons. Anyone would have though there had been a major disaster the way people had been carrying on, but no it was just that there was no power...
Whats next? They need to plug into the mighty Waikato for water, who are they going to plug into for power? I mean it was a broken cable, shit happens and you make do eh, apparently not AKLers.

Its the rest of the country having to subsidise AKL, in so many ways. How is the air up there Lou?

Yeah. I went over the bridge yesterday around 2.30pm
I managed to stay within my lane, but it was extremely gusty and I was being blown all over the place.
I quietly thanked the drivers behind me for being curteous and not trying to over take on the two lanes either side of me.
I stuck to the middle, because buggered if I was going to ride on the clipons in weather like that. It felt like the longest ride of my life.
Once I hit the other side, I wanted to punch my fist in the air, but it was still too windy, so I just cheered inside my helmet.

It was a farken amazing experience. Scary, pant-creaming, but exciting.

I was actually heading to work that started at 5pm, but it had stopped raining and I thought it better to tackle the bridge when there is less traffic. (Work finished before midnight and I went over the bridge again. The wind was fairly still though.)
I saw two other bikies coming over on the other side.
And most of the people I saw yesterday, I gather, were the old school bikers that have been riding for a while. Because we were all waving at each other and giving salutes and thumbs up, in a jist type way that, 'yeah baby. We got the balls!'
There's so many bikes around now that I think folks have gotten sick of waving. Surprising to see so many in winter still though.

Anyway, yeah. That was my yesterday for you.
