Just one thought that occurs. It is entirely possible that the perpetrator is a member of this site - or if not a member reads it as a guest.

After all, he must be into bikes in some degree.

And if so, then he presumably knows all about this thread. Which makes it rather a vain effort?

And from the sounds of it, it was rather oppurtunistic, the fact he had to go and find some wood to get the bike in the van suggests he wasnt prepared.

    Exactly -

I considered that he might read these forums, but if he was a bike theif, he would have a bike ramp in the van, wouldnt he?

I think hes a thief, out with an empty van looking for something to steal, probably cruising around the back by the stockroom lookin for somethin left out. Saw the bike, grabbed some wood, and see ya later.

Have the video now, 684mb :/ ugh, 15 mins footage, anyone know how to compress it?

    But, from the original post

Will post the video from the security camera tomorrow when i get it. Apparently he is known for stealing bikes / scooters from Botany downs. Any info would be much appreciated.
Actually, on that basis might be better to stake out Botany Downs
