Can someone please post a map pic showing the Coromandel Loop.
Might get the opportunity to ride the route so would like to see where the Loop goes. Thanks

XF650? Isn't that the Freewind? In which case, take the short loop (less miles, but a LOT more fun) through Road 309. Half way up the peninsula, east/west.Turn off the coast road at tapu, comes out right by the Coroglan Pub. natural providence that is.
Sprotsbikes can't go that way.

That ain't the 309 - it is the Tapu-Coroglen. Sprotsbikes can go that way...Originally Posted by Ixion
The 309 goes from just south of Coromandel across to Kaimarama (a few K's south of Whitianga). Sprotsbikes would be well advised to stay away.
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.
If those were all pubs it would take Korn 6 months to do the coro.Originally Posted by terbang

They haven't sealed it have they?!!! I haven't been over it for about 4 years, but it looked a long way from sealing to me.Originally Posted by What?
I took the dirty old falcon over it about six months ago, sure wasn't sealed then. Was picking up my stupid mate who had managed to drive off a scary looking 'incline'. Dickhead.Originally Posted by Motu
I suggest going to opposite direction as inplied by Korn's map, Anti clock is much more fun.Originally Posted by Kornholio
Yeah, I agree. Dunno why but the loop seems much better anti clockwise for some reason.
I just love that hunk of road, especially the Whitianga to Coro bit.

Yes I think thats the main reason, also the coast section on the west can dry out a bit by the afternoon if anticlocking it, but the hill just before coro is one of the better bits of roading in NZ for bikesOriginally Posted by beyond
