The day your rego runs out is the day it is expired.

If you havent done it for 3 months..... then when you go back to the postshop in to register it, you will be hit with oweing the past three months expired and then you will then also pay for the next 3 or 6 months depending on how many months you register it for.

You can register for 3 months, 6 months or a year.
I'm not sure if you can do it for 1 month.

WOF is for 6 months unless your bike is under 5 years old then it lasts for 1 year.

You do realise you will be paying for those 3 months if the rego isn't on hold? Rego plus the lapsed 3 months.

I really can not believe this is a serious thread. If you were in Wellington, thankfully not, I would politely ask you not to F'ed get anywhere near our roads as its dangerous enough without twits actually encouraging other twits like you trying to get back on the road riding dangerous vehicles, car or bike.
How can you have the cheek to come on a serious forum like this with the number of recent fatalities and ask to 'borrow' a tyre just to get a WOF?? It also amazes me that such a number of members have been encouraging you in this nonsense just so you can ride and either waste yourself or some innocent road user or worse a totally stupid pillion. Try knocking this response sunshine(s), because I note that this forum has been dorkland response mentally challenged at this stage ...... DOOOOHHHHH !!!!!!!!!

    Cool

Lord Derosso - No one is encouraging him to 'borrow' a tyre......

I would say everyone is saying go and buy a tyre or take the bike off the road until it is road worthy....

Thirdly, Ive been riding on it for ages and I havnt even come close to losing, sure the back has stepped out once or twice - in the wet but belive it or not I can actually ride so its no big deal....

Fourthly If I get the tyre I can get the wof (in a few weeks when I actually have money)then after two more weeks get the rego, but there is no way I can afford to get a tyre + rego + wof in the next payday. I Know you all are saftey concered sheep, but you must look at the facts, I don't enjoy going fast around corners, I can ride and controll it.

I know ideally that a new tyre would be great and i'll get one asap. But atm its not dangerous to be riding on it, I just cant afford the fines.

Also how long does your rego last after it expires? ive already been expires almost 3 months...
Heh. Squid alert. Tyre flattened in the centre section. you're not taking the corners hard enough.

But, if the tread is ok at the edges, you *might* , maybe, perhaps, get through a WoF. The law says it must have 1.5mm of tread across (I think) three quarters of the section. I've argued this with WoF guys before and won, that the 3/4 includes the side bits. Have you tried for a WoF?. Don't go to a bike shop , go to an AA place, they don't know shit about bikes and you canargue with them.

Don't have a cow, man, most of us have been young and poor, just most of us have forgotten what it's like.

Unfortunately, you've missed the chance to put your rego on hold, you'll have to pay the back rego when you do.

I'd suggest, track down a second hand tyre with enough meat to get a WoF, get Wof, (6 months), pay back rego (ONLY) , put rego on hold. That's your cheapest option. If you get pinged , you're riding without rego, but, so long as everything else (licence, wof etc) is clean, every cop except Cuntstable Cunt will (at worst) give you a compliance ticket , to allow you to get a rego.If you run into Cunstable cunt, you're toast anyway. As we all are. Come with the territory of being a biker.

Which in no way implies that I endorse anything of what you're doing.Cos I'm Nana's Nana and would never endorse anything even remotely improper .And I do think maybe you should think long and hard about the "have to have a thou cos it proves I've got a big prick even if the girls all laugh" option.

Firstly, the tyre might just make it through a wof (its not $%#en bald OR dangerous). But if it doesnt theres no way I can afford a tyre with in the 2 weeks that you have to fix it up. Although im not sure what happens if you dont.... I will JUST be able to get the $25/30 for the wof.....

And not that its anyones bussiness, but when I got the bike I actually had a propper job... now after a month Ive just got a 16hr a week job on min wage which Ive just worked a 2nd day at so im broke as a bum...

The main reason I wont be able to afford it is im well over due on paying for my uni classes and my tyre will cost for a good wack of that.

this is a TEMPORY measure not a long term plan (I would love a new tyre). The tyre still has 5mm tread on most of the sides!

And ixion, I don't have to prove anything.....

Hmm. Ahem. I never said this. But I have heard, from sources that I could NEVER endorse, that it is surprising what can be done with a soldering gun.As you were. Nothing to see here. Move along

Nah, sorry mate, not only are you publicly stating your intention to break the law, you're asking others to assist you. If you have such little regard for your fellow KB'ers, what hope have your fellow road users?
