    Paekakariki hill road.

I went to welly last weekend (in a cage) and went via the hill into hutt valley.....what a farkin eye opener! This road is quite amazing (for those that haven't been there) it starts off as a tar-seal goattrack up the side of a cliff, no barriers, then goes over the top into a goat track with a bank on one side and fence on the other, but no water tables so both of these are right beside the seal, ie no runoff. It does open up a little further down, but shit!
All you welly guys that ride this road at a pace are farkin legends, and have mucho respect from this jafa.

It can be pretty scary going down the Kapiti side with no barriers.

I remember my first time down there...

Arrrr. That be the Goat Track of Death of which ye so fondly speak. Ask Frosty...

It's a fantastic bit of road orright, but I can't get over how unforgiving it is.....you have no room for error at all.....it makes 22 look like a motorway.
I wanna bring a bike down and wear out a set of sliders round the inlet though

I love the road and it owes me nothing. The new low speed limits are ridiculous though.

Always interesting to hear the views of those from out of town on the local roads. You get used to them over time and forget how good they really are.

I hope you get to enjoy a few more of the roads. The inlet roads (Grays Rd on one side, Paremata Rd on the other) are some of the best ways to try and wear out the edges of your tyres. I miss my old job in Tawa sometimes because I hardly ever get to go over there at all now.

As for Frosty and the goat track of death, it only got him once. The next time he met it he was all over it like a rash. I had to give up on trying to keep up with him - talk about a man on a mission!
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

OOh yes. But if only it was twice as long. You have to turn around and do it again the other way too

Only watch out for the boi racers, they like to hoon on it too.

Yea it is a fun bit of road but not much margin for error. It claimed my Gixxer 750 a few years ago.
Allways cages on wrong side of road as well!
Just a normal days riding for the locals though.
