    Sorry about your experience "but"

    Biblical quotes:

"As you sow, so shall you reap!"

"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you!"

    Etc etc etc!

We get the government that we deserve because "we" vote them into office.

Do we get the service, attitude and behaviour, from our police because it is what "we" deserve?

When you read what is expressed on these forums at times especially directed at the ones who are members of this forum (even our friends) and supposedly sympathetic to our own cause, it is hardly likely that they would be inclined to be sympathetic when the pen and paper is in their hands and you are their chance to get "even".

How would you behave with the boot on the other foot?

Maybe we should, "sow as we intend to reap" and we might get ourselves a better deal! Worth thinking about?

Sometimes the facts and experience make us oldies think like your nanna's! but you be the judge! Cheers (nana for today) John.

Professionally as that is what I am employed to do, not to let emotions get in the way of doing my job.

Sometimes you have to do things you dont totally agree with, like ask someone for a reason they where in the emergency lane instead of jumping to conclusions as to assume is to make an ass out of u and me!

I strongly disagree with the strategy of the police High Command.

But, in the various interactions I have had with front line cops , I have only once encountered one who was not polite and professional. And have ben let off various infractions (not all minor)

The one exception was MANY years ago, when a senior cop being drivien somewhere by a junior cop took exception to the piloting of my 3TA. And had junior plod pull me over then abused me in a most unprofessional manner from the car window, while junior looked on, very embarrased. He (of the silver braided cap) threatened a ticket in the mail, but it never came. This was in the days of separate MoT, he was police, not MoT (grey car, not black and white).

I never had any reason to complain about the MoT snakes either (or the Auckland City council ones) , always courteous and professional. Well, I did complain of course, bastiges giving me a ticket, but I knew I deserved it. The small town traffic cops employed by local councils could be another matter some of then were right little Hitlers.

    .
lol i had a smiilar experience. An Area Commander or something pulled me for my car being to loud after following me for 20 mins, unmarked at night so I didnt notice, and the asked if I knew what I had done wrong....ummm well no.

He then asked about my exhaust, I said what about it, he said its a bit loud aint it do you know what the rules are about that? I think he nearly shat himself with anger when I qouted the relevant at the time legeslation, he then got all pissy as most do when confronted by someone smarter than they should be and forced me to turn my car on and rev it which I did conservitavely, he then wrenches the car door open and jams his foot ontop of mine to bounce it off the limiter, thus proving his point that he was a few clowns short of a circus. He then sulked off.

Then there was the time the cop tried to do me for dangerous driving for get this 50 in a 50! He then said I had to drive straight home and he would call my parents, at 3 in the morning, fuck did he get a fright when Mum answered the phone yelling abuse at him, then again when she went in to the cop shop on the monday and yelled at his boss.
Ended up "using a motor vehicle to the annoyance of any person", a ticket cops can just give out willy nilly it seems whenever they annoyed.

Oh yeah, he got the ticket in the mail alright! Looking at his ticket this is what they booked him for:

'Drove in lane unavailable' $150 Hmmmm seems like the officer had a hard time thinking up that "reason".

Bummer dude, I hope you get off it and if not then chalk it up for experience and remember his number for future reference.

Thats exactly right ! ( I must be feeling pro today) Its one hell of a job and can be very satisfying. The idea is to remain non- judgemental (well I tried to ) and then react to any situation as it presented itself. If someone is ugly you have to give ugly back. Be polite , and you should get the same back.

Of course there are pricks, but there is in any job. I hope the bosses can redeem some of the respect most people have for the uniform ? I believe it has slipped. Gaz.
