Meh, after 40 years riding I don't ride to sit in the queue with the cages. If I wanted to do that I'd commute in a cage. Just watch for gaps in the line of traffic, if there's a gap, you can bet someone will zip through it in front of you

Well the good news is the Police have told me I am 100% in the right and they may want to press charges of dangerous driving cauing injury.

I claim this one for the two wheelers over the cages! I think his insurance company is still denying liability even though he admitted liability and the police have siad he was at fault. Dickhead insurance companies....

Thanks again for all your support...

Just thought I would up a post so others can sympathise with me and to say if you are travelling on the insode of stopped traffic please be aware of silly people who turn on you. I was lucky, the next person might not be....

Also sorry to Tony and Steve (Kiwifruits mate and Qkchk) as these people were selling me a bike and buying off me my sm. We'll see what insurance has to say on Monday.

Bit of a shock hitting a nice big piece of steel at 40km/h....

    I feel your pain.
Good to hear that your ok and in the right, I should think so .
Similar thing happened to myself (bloody couriers). Van crossed in front and I had a flying lesson at 40Km
It's makes things a little easier to if they admit Liability to. Sounds like you'll have no problem getting your bike fixed, great news.

Glad to hear you are okay!

Bus lanes are bloody dangerous alright.

This brings to mind a thread by Dynamytus50 on another Dominion Road bus lane accident a while back.

    Take care out there.

Glad to hear your good and no major injuries. Taxis, buses and couriers don't actually use their mirrors (urban myth). They drive under the assumption that they have an invisible shield to protect them.

Hopefully, hes not with QBE Insurance. Those barstids lie through their teeth. I got fokked over in Disputes because they lied to the chair. Didnt help that my IC was a no show. I looked like sour grapes, with my tats, number 1 hairjob and biker garb, when I said both QBE and the complainant were blatantly lying about what had happened. Wankers. If the Courier co is with them, make sure you note *everything* down so you'll have it with you if it gets nasty. (bleat over)

Contacting the coppers is a definite "must do" even in a minor crash. Even if the other party says "don't worry about it, no damage", get your A down to the copshop and register the incident.

    Once bitten, twice shy....

Damn do I wish I had seen that thread!.... Its surprising how many aches appear in the following days..

I am very happy to have walked away from this accident and I know that I will be a LOT more careful in future because I want to spend at least 20% of my life on a motorbike and I have a lot of catching up to do
