I know. I've got one. But it's not really a crusier. Riding position is normal, ground clearance not too bad (better than the handling, anyway). Crusierish, in the acres of chrome. But it's really a grand tourer in the old school tradition, not a crusier. Really good at knocking off long distances at speed (100mph can easily be maintained for miles on end) over straightish, sweeping bend type roads. Comfortable , too. And, in its day, one of the most powerful bikes around - only the Z1000 Kawa and the H2 750 triple put down more power, I think, apart from oddities.

Who wants to ride something that sounds (and even looks) like a demented sewing machine?

Hunched over the fuel tank, with sore wrists from constantly leaning forward?

Cramp in the knees from the foetal riding position, and a sore neck from trying to see forward?

Why do you do it? Is it - dare I say it? - the image?

Is it the scrapes on your knee sliders, or the size of your chicken strips that matter the most?

Are the twin gods of HP and RPM really so important?

Does getting there as fast as possible really matter, or are you somehow lesser men for checking out the scenery on the way?

I thought motorcycling was all about the journey, but it appears that getting to the destination as fast as possible is the only acceptable option?

Above all, how can you be so arrogant as to have a different riding ethos than me?

I have no desire to offend, but after all I'm just a one-eyed crusier rider, with nothing but scorn for the posers on the sprot bikes.

I feel I should have some affinity with all fellow bikers, but it is hard to open my mind to differing views.

Help me out here - where am I going wrong?

hmmm....some of us like the rush....hammering a bike into a corner...pushing the laws of physics in process....holding that elusive perfect line...and powering out so hard that the rears starting to wag a little...compaining about being on the edge of traction...tipping hard in to the next...balencing the chassis on the throttle...etc etc etc....

horses for courses basically......some of us translate the term living in a different way to the rest!! just like some of us interact with our mates on this website different from how others would...and yes...we would get scorned for that too!!

I am going to explain this scientificly...... its called adrenilin.

adrenalin is made in the adrenal gland, what is also in the adrenal gland and has a similar effect to adrenalin is testosterone. testosterone is made in the teste gland which in lameman terms "the 2 hairy sacks the hang below your cock". so the bigger your nuts the more adrenaline that is produced.

sport bikers are adrenalin junkies which means they have huges nuts.

tourers that dont understand whats so great about sport bikes have itty bitty pea sized ones

the NSR is better than RGV, better handling, more reliable and faster

nah...not faster and not more reliable....handling...you maybe right...but I didn't say that... kawasaki KR1S is the fastest of the 250 two strokes...and probally the most un reliable and not the best handling...I know...I've pushed all three of the ones I've own...far to many times...fucking power valves!! I recon the late model TZR would be the most reliable from what I've heard...and close to NSR in handling...but...meh!!

based on a stock version with the electronic deristriction the nsr is faster, and reliability i spose there similar it just depends on how there looked after.

looks i think th NSR has it hands down but thats personal preferance, plus i sell a TYGA RGV kit now the both look damn good in new skin.

anyway cowpoos we have big balls at the end of te day

My Ducati doesn't sound like a sewing machine

Weight held with centre of mass not wrists - never get sore wrists even after 5 hours of riding

Head is held up naturally forward facing - not looking skyward a la cruiser

I go slow in straight lines and get overtaken by cruisers whe then get pinged by the coppers - I like scenery

Monoccular vision is quite common - I need a certificate every time I sit a licence test
