They're not bad. I've had a pair since I started riding and they've been really good. Real comfy and a bit thicker than your average jeans.

I crashed in mine a month or so back. At about 50mk/h, and they we all sweet. Saved my skin. The only place I really lost some skin was on my ankle cause they rode up and I wasn't wearing my boots at the time

They are a lot better than jeans for sure. Draggin jeans have really good abrasion resistance and hold up well in slides. The lack of armour is the only draw back if you hit the road hard, especially if you land on joints. BUT, you are addressing that issue with added armour anyways.

Not water proof, do get hot in summer, but what doesn't. They have a habit of riding up your leg in a forward slide, which can get nasty on the meaty regions. make sure they are well secured into boots etc.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Had mine for about nine months now. They are not cheap but are well made and probably the most comfortable jeans I have owned.
I only use them on the bike around town, elsewhere I use my leathers (or corduras if its raining). I often use them for casual wear even if not riding.

I prefer the Teknic or Shift kevlar jeans, they're cheaper and more comfy. But Ixon are bringing out some cool fabric jeans with knee armour and hip padding.

'Treads is better known as Cycletreads, can be found in Barry's Point Road in Takapuna. Leave yourself plenty of time to look around, they have heaps of cool stuff, well worth the trip.

Personally I prefer the Draggin to the Shift jeans, I have unfortunately binned in both and I find the Draggins much better, especially with the extra armour.
