Oddest thing I've ever collected on a bike was an octopus.

I had a near miss with a port-a-loo which fell from a ute in front of me. The guy behind me wasn't so lucky... Had a close call with a skunk once.

large numbers of bugs, a butterfly that smeared itself across my face [open faced lid, but with sunnies thankfully!]
a bee got inside the full face i borrowed off dad...took me a while to work out how to safely let it go... and another bee got wedged in the padding of my open facer...between the padding and the shell. i went to flick him out [bad idea with fingerless gloves!] and got stung for my trouble. fun riding home with a swelling finger.

for those of you who swell from bee stings, keep some honey with you..takes the swell and the pain away very fast. ive tried it 3 times and its worked 3 times.

nothing bigger than that, but have come close to collecting a rabbit, a couple of dogs, a cat and a litter of pigs. twice.

I've had the bee in the helmet a few times, mostly while riding through central otago.

I hit a sheep while riding home from the freezing works at 2am. Oh the irony.

i've had a mouse, and also a bird explode on contact with my front wheel.

Also had random birds playing 'chicken' the pressure wave created at high speed.

Best one though would have to be a rabbit which ran 3/4 the way across the road as i approaced at 1xxkmh stopped 5cm short of my front wheel then high tailed back to where it appeared from. Bet he made lots of babbies that night.

    leg of lamb anyone

This photo was taken back in about 1985. we used to go to the 6 hour each year and this fella was always in front. Why cause he's f#*kin mad. Nah he can ride rings around most people. If ya been to Taupo in the last 50 years ya would of seen im around, a real character.

Anyway we is heading down that big straight into Cheltenham from Vinegar Hill way and i was behind him on me wire wheeler and we was doing about 140kmh. i see these two sheep upahead grazing either side of road. Of course they heard us coming. Mus of been that feckin Mike Hailwood Repilca behind me makin all those kaboom noises.

So of course old sheepy is scared so one dumb feck runs towards other dumb feck. well stevo got no way out so just stands up on the pegs and rides over the feckin thing.

All I see is sheep doin a cartwell and we carry on. Sorry to the animal lovers but we did not stop. Any way up the road I pull up next to steveo and tell im he got something stuck on the right peg area.

As u can see the front disk is a wee red and a leg of lamb is attached. We carried o and left it there for the 6 hour. Got lots of photos taken of it.

sorry for piccie quaity but this is a photo taken of a normal phot with digi camera.

Quite simple actually. I was riding along a beach and doing the "roar through the little pools left around the point where the tide turns thing" , and found it later caught up in the ledgy bit above the swing arm A small one. They get washed up at high tide sometimes and left behind by the tide. I imagine it got jammed bewteen theknobs on the rear tyre (knobblies) and then flicked free.

I head-butted a seagull riding on an open-road near Dunedin. I was doing about 90km/h and the impact was pretty severe.

The poor bastard was eating something on the road. It tried to fly away from me and had just reached my head height when I hit it.

I've also collected a few possums over the years. But I tend to aim for them whenever it is safe to do so
