heh, funny. Almost all of those pics were sprots bikes (not being anti sprot bike here, dont get me the wrong way) ALL of them had nothing but a helmet, if that. How much you wanna bet that them fools be speeding and trying to be valentino rossi... ughh... motorcycling isnt a problem, shit, land a 747 on the motorway for all i care, as long as you dont hit me! People being S*it heads is the real problem...

i dont speed and i pay attention to people around be... sure, ill probably bin, and it'll probably be my fault, but because i wear proper gear, hopefully the injury will be minimal and i can learn from my mistakes...

well, you know what, that website is pretty grusome and eye opening, but is it gonna stop me from riding? HELL NO! however, i think i will be riding a bit safer from now on....

    If anything, I feel safer.

Given that there are, in fact more car accidents. Where's the page of melted familys sitting in SUV's?

Motorcycles have not got any more dangerous, the cars are simply safer. I'm sure if someone invented air bags, traction control, and roll bars for a bike then you'd see the number of bike fatalities going down too.

Could you not draw a comparison of the number of people killed in cars as opposed to aeroplanes, that would show that cars are dangerous and so we should go everywhere by plane.

    Lies, damn lies, and statistics
errrr, i read on an american forum last night, goldwing and a couple of others are experimenting with airbags at the moment for next years line...limited number only, but there nonetheless.

Its good to be reminded of the consequences. Those of us who have lost loved ones dont need a website to reinforce those messages.

    However I agree with John.

I'm gonna go to bed in half an hour and in the morning I'm gonna go for a ride...

Yeah, but how many of the people who die in bed were wearing ahelmet and full protective gear at the time?

That ride2die site is pretty sobering.

For some reason I found this particular sequence to be one of the most disturbing. I hate to imagine what happened to the pillion!

Ohmygawd~ how bad was HIS timing??? (I say HIS 'cos only us guys can be so stupid). Car driver probably had no idea what happened.
Wrong place, wrong place, wrong place ...there is never a good time for that kind of riding with that much traffic around.
    Keep it rubber-side down...

I have a helmet, I'm quite attached to it. Don't need protective gear.

I remember in a different life going to an incident where a pedestrian was cut in half as she crossed a a pedestrian crossing.

Two cars dragging hit her as she crossed.

I will never use a pedestrian crossing again

But still going for a blat on the bike today
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Pretty sobering, i like to look at them because it reminds me of the consequences of stuffing up. However, do a search for car accident pics and some of them are just as bad...
I wont be sad the day I get tired of riding street bikes and move into, say, dirt bikes. However, therein lies the issue, i love riding road bikes, and don;t see that happening any time soon!
