Question Rego-ing the bike after Rego has run out

The RG is only a mirror and reflecter away from being warrantable (unless VTNZ come up with something else) and I'll be getting 3 months rego on it afterwards. Only the bike's rego ran out last May. Now will I have to pay extra to get the bike registered again since it hasn't be done the last 4 months? I've read through the LTNZ site and I couldn't find out through the mess of 'factsheets'

You'll have to pay the last 4 months as well as the next 3. Unless you had the rego on hold

Oh dear, my Dad was right. I had hoped to get the bike sorted asap and had forgotten to put the rego on hold. So that's not good, not good at all

They totally owe me though. In the past 2 years of riding I've wasted 12 months worth of rego costs as the bike has been the in the garage being repaired. Gosh darnnit, should've chosen a cheaper addiction, like cocaine

I'm pretty sure there is a way around it, can't remember exactly what it was, something to do with putting it on hold in someone elses name then transferring ownership back to yourself, but not 100% sure what the story is
