thats a bloody great idea. stops kids from fuc***g round with our bikes. Caught some teens sitting on my crappy lil bike taking pics of each other. just as well i recognised them from school as mates of a mate otherweise they would have gotten more than just an earful.
Not a bad idea.
I especially like the fact you can store your gear in there with the bike as well.
jeez you suzuki riders are an angry lot, so you woulda beaten up some little kids for taking photos of each other on your bike, make an effort get them interested and they might be riding a bike in a few years, the only thing that really annoys me is when people think it's ok to move my bike or they play with things like the light! ffs i mean someone turned my light off last week for some reason, but yeah those bike parks are a cool idea, would make it easier for everyone to wear all the gear cause you could leave it all in that cage

Must admit that would actually make it worth it to pay for parking.

hey i just thought - 60p for a park and shag!
Yeh, 60p an hour is cheaper than a hotel...
What an ingenious idea! I could see some people dropping/scraping their bikes, and the odd time when the lock malfunctions and bike gets stranded, but otherwise a worthy addition to any city parking facility imo.
Bugger parking, I'll sublet them. 8 hours kip for $4.80, thats a bargain. I reckon I could fit 2 Pacific Island families in each , Auckland's housing crisis solved. (and the tragedy is that I only semi joking!)

Though how much are tradition tin sheds these days
They take up too much room.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
I wonder how they are going to prevent use by pushbikers/tourists/just about everybody who needs affordable storage in the middle of the town. I've been in a situation where I needed to leave something heavy for several hours and was quite willing to pay a buck an hour for it. Methinks, it will never become readily available parking, more like parking if you are lucky or if you book it a week in advance.
Not to mention the potential for drug peddlng... Alas there are always two sides to a coin...

Great idea on one hand but dont you think it might lead to CC's moving away or using the current free bike spacing to replace it with these $$$ devices??
Besides its a sad day when you need to lock your bike up in a shed just to go to the city, though I still think that these would have a clientel for say visitors whom are staying in the city a night waiting on the morning ferry in Wellington. Yes, now that would be a great idea and promote Wellington etc as a safe place to park your $50K machine and be able to go out and enjoy the city and leave all your gears behind. WCC contact take note please !!
These can go next to the central library easy as, and I am not talking about the current free parking space either.
