That should be a must read for everyone. and such a pretty girl, there were 2 lessons their 1 the correct gear, 2 the rider should have takern into consideration he had a pillion, I change my riding when I have a passanger, if I kill myself tuff, but I could never live with myself if it were my passanger or someone I love.

Fuck that. She made the choice to get on the bike in the first place with no gear on. You cant blame the guy.

Need to know the speed he was going to agree with you there...cause if he was speeding (and by the sounds of it he was) then it is his fault if you ask me, big time his fault.

That's some serious learning alright. Any one out there been down the road in a pair of draggin jeans? They have been part of my commitment to always wearing safety gear, but I'm wondering if I'm kidding myself about how much protection they provide.

Totally agree, the person in control, driver/rider is reponsible for any passanger/pillion.

Wow that is one hell of a story!!! Good on her for getting back out there and even riding her own bike. I know there has been many debates on KB about wearing gear or not but I think this story and the pics say it all!!

    Take care out there peeps

Damn she's one bloody strong girl. I went through a bike accident that put me in a wheelchair and crutches for 2 years but I can still only imagine the pain she went through. Real wake up call to wear the good stuff.

I think I've seen that clip with a girl slipping off the back. Sobbering hearing the rest of the story. Like someone said she is beautiful and someone else has taken that away from her. The blame falls squarely on the rider. Just like a car driver by taking on board passengers, admitting it or nor, you become responsible for their life. The dickhead rider knew she was there, knew how poorly she was dressed. And sure knew he was riding fast. Some mate he was.

I did not know it was possible to actually be blown off the back of a bike. Has anyone ever experienced (or heard of ) a similar case?

I almost never take pillions (maybe half a dozen times in 40 years). For such reasons.

    Courageous lass.

If it's the clip I'm thinking of ((this one), he did a mono with her on the back, dressed like that. I reckon she was a bit stupid for getting on dressed like that, but he was an arse for doing the mono, and no question he caused it (if that's the right vid...)

FWIW the helmet on the chic in the vid looks about the right colour...

Ah, a mono. That's another matter. I suspect Mr Motu is right.
