Angry Don't you just hate it?

Second time this has happened this week.

Im riding my bike up the road, A STUPID car driver doesn't see me and pulls out infront of me. When I slam my brakes on in order to avoid the car he looks me right in the face and im sure he thinks to himself " serves you right you free-thinking, bike riding bastard" Im sick and tired of car drivers nearly hitting me and then looking at me as to say it's not there fault and then just carry on through the intersection.
Now I know you might be thinking that im some looney rider than rides and 70kms through town but im not. Believe me, I've been hit once by a car and since then i've tried to ride in a 'bubble' of saftey.

This my just be me in my drunken rage but let me know what you think.

    Aero,

every car etc is going to pull out on you, its good luck if they don't....
you have to be their eyes as well as yours.
give yourself options as you come towards a vehicle like that, look at the front wheels and that where the driver is looking (or not looking),
when (WHEN) they do pull into your first line of choice you can refer to the second choice (one you have prepared earlier) and go around the said fuckwit.

think about "what if" at all times

people will always pull out on you, expect them to do so

Yes, I agree. My first and hopefully only crash happened when I was going around the round about near noel lemmings or what ever that place is and as I exited the round about a lovely lady decided to remove her car from the nearest park to the round about at litespeed with out checking behind her. She backed straight into me and wrote off my poor innocent ZXR. I have been riding since I was 4 and I watch the tires, ect and I think thats why I haven't hit any cars so far. It just annoys me how they pretend they saw you all along.

Dont want to burst your 'bubble' Areo, but that sort of thing does/will happen from time to time, we (bikers) are the better road use's no question. We have a ton of vision and i hope, good reaction to such moments? Sometimes it wont turn out the you planned, cant educate every car driver, a bike license should be mandatory before advancing to a cage.....

Yep....I look for head, hand movement you name it..just gives you more thinking time.
I think drivers over here get embarrassed and rather than a simple hands up they do the opposite................but as Kiwi says it is part of the game.

Different topic, but I saw some cage, not disabled card parked in a disabled bay tonight...left a note

"you are parked in my Daughters parking space, do you want her disability".....

probably screw it up but maybe they will think twice next time.

    Aero,
All car drivers are out to kill you ,remember that ,it might save your life . Yesterday ,southwest m/way ,black jeep pulls into where I was a nano second before . Twenty minutes later , southern motorway another black jeep does the same thing .Today two japanese Remuara tractors occupy my space .Everyday car drivers do something stupid in front of me . They are all IDIOTS .You have to be to drive in Auckland.

Aero, not all drivers are out to kill you.......but just appreciate that bikes can accelerate quickly and they do not always appreciate that.

I drive a Mazda MPV and it is not just bikers who come across bad driving so what I am saying is don't get into this hate cage attitude that some guys have...........not all drivers are bad.

At the moment there’s a lot of road works going along the Pakuranga Highway (Auckland). Two lanes merge into one on, on a gravely, ripped up surface. A mid-80s Japanese car came across and merged almost perpendicular to me, braking and swerving ensued (on my behalf) and the driver looks up from his phone sheepishly; and limp wristedly waves sorry.

It happens, it irritates me as much as you, guess it’s part of being on two wheels.

Well you got an acknowledgement of guilt which is rare in Auckland eh?

of course not, but they all must be considered guilty before proving themselves innocent

They're not actually OUT to kill us. They're too stupid to formulate such a coherent plan. Killing us is just an incidental side effect of their selfish stupidity.

    Thumbs up

Never ceases to amaze me that drivers just dont see bikes. and to top it off, the f***en rego is really high. But at least you can look at it this way......... $210, which goes to acc does ensure that you at least get a cart to scape you off the road and take you to a hospital where you get stiched back together. Not a bad cost for health insurance. Go and price the real deal for health insurance..........its not so bad afterall.
