YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I finally bought a bike. After allmost 4 months of tossing and turning, checking reviews, comparisons, opinions, I finally decided for a sports bike and being limited to 250cc, I opted for a 2 smoker.
So, last wednesday evening, a friend of mine rode "my new bike" home for me: an almost mint condition Honda NSR250R MC18. I was dying to ride it, but it was too late and I had to postpone it until the next day... when it rained like hell.
Due to the fact that my only previous riding experience is a summer of riding on a cruiser about 4-5 years ago, I was kinda' fearful of riding a sport 2 stroker for the first time, so I decided to at least wait for better weather. However, on friday afternoon, coming from work, I just couldn't resist, so I went to ride, even if it was raining (I was gonna ride it in the parking lot anyway, 'cause I don't have the license yet). Fortunately, I proved to have a good equilibrium sense and didn't drop it. I rode for about 30-45 minutes in the rain and came back in the house with a grin from one ear to the other
Today a took it for a short ride again (about an hour) and I'm allmost familiarised with it. I can't wait for next Saturday to take my basic handling skills.
Are there any NSR riders and/or 2 stroke fans in the Wellington area? As soon as I can hold my own, I would like to come to the Wednesday Night Rides and meet the Welly KB guys.
