I will be getting my license back somtime around the august 2007 due to losing license on demerit points and have been caught twice riding without license. your disqualification period will be extended by a mandatory 6 months, you will also be arrested, finger printed and photo taken down at the local cop shop. Your vehicle will be impounded for a month and it will cost $500 to get it out at the end of the month. If you do not have the money to get it out it will be sold and you will end up with nothing. I was caught once by a car hitting me then the police were involved and the other time I was speeding in my car (61kph) I have not been pulled over while driving/riding at the speed limit. Its really up to you wheather you want to risk it. I still risk it and will continue to do so untill I get my license back.

American dad: So you just pound on it for two minutes until your done?

I would leave the bike in the shed.

It's a big risk. But the biggest thing to think about is whether you would behave while riding disqualified. The main reason for getting pulled over is for doing something wrong, and only you can decide if you have the control to ride in a law abiding manner.
Or just keep the tank topped up and ready for a runner.

    Up to you man.

The other issue to consider is cops trying you... I have had it myself, and know others who have had it done to them. The cop "tests" you as such, ie, comes up behind, lights flashing, or follows you, no lights. Or they are coming the other way, and pull a u-turn, just to follow you.

There is no way, during these events, it was anything but watching me/other people I know. Now, say I didn't have a license, and one of these things occurred. I would have almost no choice, but to run for it. If I have a license tho, I have nothing to fear. Not having a license adds another step of paranoia, that you need to cope with.

horse shit you have to run for it, just act like every other law abiding citizen.

fuck, I have a licence (occasionally) and I'm still paranoid at the first whiff of bacon.

Catching the bus isn't so bad.

At least the issue of if you can use of the bus lanes or not will be clear.

Do the right thing. It always works out best in the long run.

FWIW I'd sell that bike you have and get something less of a track bike and more suited to road use too.

...and here I was thinking you were a down-right witty member of KB...and you went and shattered that belief by posting something an 8 year old would say...

What's a 'mom' by the way?

...and I wish she would drive me around in her XR6 Turbs...but I'm not allowed near it...

i have my good days and my bad days.

however, implying that you travel drunk in your own vehicle is just retarded and sneering at users of public transport equally so.

hell, even a man of such stature as myself is happy to let the train take the strain.

Implying I travel drunk in my own vehicle is by no means implying I drive my own vehicle drunk though...

As for sneering at public transport users...I have nothing against taxi's, trains or planes...but I do stand by my laughter at bus users, and I know I'm not alone in that laughter...
