    Welcome

My first reaction on reading this this morning was; Well if they had just let him get his Tonne Up he probably would have slowed down.

Myself I have not gone that fast in a very long time, the penalties suck, all the best with the wait to get your licence back.

Speeding carefully is tricky, I am old & slow & my bike would barely go that fast . I am sure others here will give you plenty of advice!

I have not even been to court yet and false statements have already been made.

Nice one bro. But next time try and go faster.....
I wish the media wouldn't continually blow everything out of proportion.
I've done almost twice that on a few occasions and similar in a cage and would love to see the media report something along those lines......I'd probably get 6 years in Jail for it, judging by how much of a crime they see speeding as.

Is it just me who thought.

"kid goes fastish in straight line..., not pissed, not nicked bike, not drugged up....nothing else happens"

thats a pretty normal cruise speed to work on a european motorway. not the brightest though...

Fark is that all. When I was 15 there were no bike size restrictions and I rode a 750 and used to ton it all the time (imperial ton), I didn't think that I was dangerous and fuck I could ride better than any of those old bastards that used to lecture me on my attitude.. And cops, Pfffftt they were fair game. My mate on his 500 was exactly the same. Like me, he was indestructable. But he never saw 16...

This is an interesting thread. Does a young guy caught doing 150 odd Kliks on a 250 attract the heat anymore than say an old fart like me getting caught doing the same on my Busa. I thought speeding was speeding and either way (me or him) its more than 40 Kliks over so Bye Bye licence. It is interesting to note that most of us have ridden at similar or even higher speeds on that very piece of road often. Don't you think that it is all of us that are attracting the cops rather than one young fella getting caught speeding on his restricted. My only concern here is that I hope that his mentors or guardians or whatever, have or do ensure that he is well competent on a bike as the statistics are against him for a long life.

Um, I guess in fairness it should be said that I have heard rumours that on Thursday nights several dozen bikers blat over the roads fairly near there at speeds well in excess of what he was doing. Maybe they might do more stirring up than one lad on his own?

Whilst the wisdom of such speeds by an inexperienced rider might be questioned, the speed itself is not inordinate for that stretch of road (well, parts of it anyway).
