    Post Biker lifestyles

this is a poll i thought up last night on the ride home from Auckland
how often do you ride, and does that define what kind of riding you do?
And also, what makes you "get out there" every day?
What do you see motorcycling as?

Hey - where're de white wimmen at?

This is a survey - not a poll - subtle difference but it's there neverthless. EDIT - okay - the poll turned up eventually.

Bike - gets me to and from work.
Bike - gets me through the twisties with a smile.
Bike - allows me to meet people I have very little in common with and still find something to talk about.

What gets me out there every day? Geographic inconvenience (I live a long way from work)

my bike also gets me to work.
and i guess is my reason to work.! so i can buy a new one! haha!
gives me something extra to do in the weekend.
waht gets me out there? 15 years of my dad riding a bike and not buying me a motocross therefore making me jealous!! i.e. i have 15 years to make-up!
motorcycling? trafic solution! a finely tuned TOY that is alot cheaper then your exotic cars! and in everyone elses eyes who don't ride a bike? DANGEROUS!!

Other than my bike being off the road for the last 10 weeks, I ride everyday, come shine, wind, rain, snow or ice. No bike makes OAB go crazy.

Which period of my life on bikes do you want to look at? If you want todays situation I'll say I don't ride motorcycles.....but that falls far short of what I really do.

I ride almost every day when hubby's not around (his elbow is still busted so he can't ride until it's fixed - and as we work in pretty much the same place, we drive when we go to work together). Hence I'm enjoying him being overseas at the mo! (from a bike perspective only of course )

I don't ride when I know I'll be having a couple of drinks after work, or when friends come to stay after work (haven't managed to convince any of them to double up yet - but then the ginny probably couldn't handle it anyway. I'm about all it can take at once, LOL)

I love that I can meet people that I never would meet in my normal day to day life if I didn't have a bike. I love the support and advice you get when you're learning, it really makes a difference

Nah! I totally get what he is saying. I had what i thought was a 'biker' lifestyle but really all I had / have is a life with a bike sometimes involved someplace. It's not my life and my life certainly does not have any style but it often has a bike.....

    um

    I think

I have never been without a bike to ride since I was 16,and that was 37 years ago.Like Paul there were times when I lived and breathed bikes and lived the biker lifestyle...other times where I rode a stepthu.I have no bike to ride on the street at this present point in time, but will be riding my trials bike in a couple of weeks for our Xmas trial.I may have no opportunities to go for a ride at the moment, but my mind is constantly on bikes....a new plan is hatching....

    theres always been a bike

of some sort laying around, but I find the solitude good for my mental health, so I sold the cage, gone forever.
I still maintain one for the missus and kids, but it don't got my name on it, I only use it if I don't want to leave the bike parked somewhere sus, or I need a trailer (usually picking up a new project) or I have to cart the kids around.
I ride my bike at every oppertunity
    Yes I know my enemies
They're the teachers who taught me to fight me....
