    Failed my WOF

That's right, my lovingly maintained, 1 year old, 10,000km Bandit was failed.
For not having the rubber on one of my pillion footrests.
You see, I remove the rubber when I'm not carrying my wife so that the peg will fold. The Givi frame prevents it doing so when the rubber is fitted.
I did point this out to Mr WOF Inspector person, but to no avail.
BTW. This person and I both work at the same dealership.

Catch 22 there Lou.... damned if you do and damned if you dont....

So now you will know in future when the WOF is due stick that piece of rubber back on.

Plus at least you know that the person is doing their job correctly..... and not just letting you away with it just cos you work with them.

They are making sure your baby is all legal.

I know its just a bit of rubber but dem the rules.

I'd say so. Like in the old days - if you had indicators fitted, they had to work. Not working? Just remove them. Sorted. Tis TOO pathetic these days.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

There is no requirement for a footrest (rider or pillion) to have a rubber fitment. And many bikes do not. Is he claiming that removing the rubber constitutes a "modification", which requires certification? I would complain if refused a WoF on those grounds.

So you've made a modification to your bike and have no LVV cert for it.....it's a wonder he didn't take you into the office out of earshot.Problem with a newer vehicle is it has to stay in certification state.....us poor people who ride older bikes don't have that problem.Mind you the guy who does my WoF's is pretty damn outstanding.

May be you just pissed him off somehow ?
My bike doesn't even have rubber on pillion footpegs. All aluminum. Passed with flying colors.
