Can you please edit your first post and add some kind of a warning Pixie?

That should be made a sticky and to be blunt , ( how do I put this politely ) ..I cant ,,,

Ill put it another way, the Ferryman can be very expensive sometimes.

Crashing on the road SUX big time, The point is NOT to crash

Defensive driving lowers the chances of ever crossing the River Styx. ( no that doesnt mean riding like an old lady)
Some people Clock up huge Milages per year and hardly have even a scary moment ,,,,

    Stephen

who is still paddling around in circles on the river Lethe

It's not that.. People die of heart attacks and I still eat bacon... I just don't like seeing photos of dead people.

I bet the graph of the accident rate is exactly the same curve as one charting peak motorcycle horsepower over the same time.

Pretty fucked way of making people click the link btw.

    What Mr D'Marge said.

Get it wrong on a bike, and that's what happens. Not nice, but sticking head in sand won't make it less so.

Best idea is not to fall off.

Actually, reckon every applicant for a licence of ANY sort should have to view those photos (and a few more). Then answer some test questions about them to make sure they looked closely.

Probably more that there are more riders coming back in to biking and riding high HP machines (or harleys which don't handle) and cos it is the usa, darwin rules when they don't wear a lid.

But as always... it looks like most of their examples are not the bikes fault... we just have to learn how to stay out of trouble.

It reminds me of when I was on Basic Training in the Army. They would hand you around big gory pictures of recruits who'd failed to operate weapons correctly and been killed because of it. Basically scare tactics to make you stand up and think.
I took note of them, that's for sure !!!

Scary stuff alright because it certainly provides a reality check a lot of us may be lacking. However I still don't give too much of a shit should I die on a Bike, though in saying that I would hate living with injuries or bearing disfiguring scars for the rest of my life after having an accident.

I knew I needed to invest in some more gear and after seeing this I don't need any more encouragement.
