Tell them to take a hike, we already have a motorcycle forum thats well run and allows freedom of speech and toyful abuse
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
I think it would be useful to have such a forum that highlights:
1/ It is Legal for motorcyclists to Lane split.
2/ It is Legal for motorcyclists to use Bus Lanes (where not marked wclusively for buses).
3/ It is legal in many car parks for bikes to park for free.
We can rant and rave about this in KB but lets face it - no motorists come here so carry on oblivious thinking we're breaking the law.
They need to be taught that our choice of transport and our behaviour actually reduces pollution and congestion.
We could also talk about the things that REALLY piss us off. i.e. cellphones, makeup, cappuccino, driving with yer knees, failure to use mirrors (y'know "I didn't see you." - "S'coz you didn't farken look!") It might be a wake up call to them form one of the most vulnerable groups of road users.
I don't think they are necessarily looking to dob in motorcyclists.
If you read their blurb it's basically a couple of women, one of whom lost a child in a vehicular accident. They want morons off the roads as much as we do.
I just think there's an opportunity to educate that could be missed here.
McJim, from what Ive experienced you can tell them till you are blue in the face what motorcycles can and cant do, but they wont listen. Many of them have a holier than thou attitude.

As do a lot of motorcyclists!
I think it's a kiwi thing - there seems to be a need here to create "them and us" situations - very confrontational - (maybe that's why the politics here are about who shagged who and ancient history instead of the improvement of New Zealand!) a lot of KB members went on their site with the intention of having a flame fest and that's what happened.
But I like your attitude Sniper - "It probably won't work so lets not try" Really progressive thinking![]()
LOL, that's such a funny quote you picked up there!!!
Stereo, cellphone AND coffee, and blissfully unaware of surroundings - love it! So typical of the sorts that seem to be popping up on that site.
It really does seem that snapt is mostly visited/inhabited by those with incredibly poor driving skills who are looking to deflect attention away from their own incompetence at every opportunity (valid or otherwise).
Whilst I think MDU's intentions regarding snapt are honourable (let's face it, not many non-bikers are going to visit KB, and the wider community DOES need educating about bikes, definitely), I don't think that snapt attracts the sort of people who are truly open to education.
Ten out of 10 for intent MDU, but I wouldn't think a bikes forum on snapt would do anything other than encourage a rush of 'OMG, did you SEE what this bike did today' posts.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
If they wanted a "Dob in a biker" forum they would create it themselves.
They've asked MDU therefore they are inviting us to create a "Motorist dobbed in by a motorcyclist" Forum.
That's why I quoted the start of the thread and not some of the misinformed shite that followed!
I'm thinking I could set up the cam on my bike and use it for my daily commute. I could post all the instances of dangerous and illegal driving I witness every day.
I think wrong end of the stick has been got here.
This is an eye opener! First I've heard of something like this - I thought it would have been developed in the good ol' US of A (maybe it was, or the Poms, looks a bit like something they'd come up with).
There are some saddos about, that's for sure.
Words fail me...............
Cheers
Barry
No it hasn't McJim. Read the site extensively and you'll see it is about dobbing in other drivers who don't "drive just like me".
It's a horrible idea that needs active intervention from civil liberties groups - but unfortunately it isn't Gays or Somalians being singled out, so the Civil Liberties groups won't even bother.
You're in NZ now. Attitudes to driving solidify into rubbish about it being a "right" to drive at about age 17.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
I like it when a website advertises the fact that it's after the 15 year old retard demographic.Code:Hv U Bn Snapt ;)?
Wastes less of my time.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.
