Lightweight bike, with a light weight rider, it's going to be easy on tyres. But what brand and type are they , that has a major influence. not all tyres are created equal

My fault I jumped to the conclusion you had a bigger bike and felt you were winding us up. I put new tyres on to go the "The Burt Rally" from Auckland and they were halfworn by the time I got back. I ended up with a plug in them after about 1000km and went down in a group with a scooter yep a Gilera 180cc scooter thing went amazingly well, but we weren't fanging it everywhere partly because of the plug, but I still expected a bit more life from them.
I had a set of Bridgestone OEM tyres on my VTR until just after the 12,000km service - they were barely worn - I changed them coz they were 3 years old not coz they were worn. they'd have kept going for ages - I just wouldn't have had faith in them in corners at speed.

I Never use the front wheel so ......
No seriously - My SV650S lasted 13,000 on the original Metzelers - They probably could've lasted another 2,000 but I will never know as I've just recently put a new set back and front on. - Pirelli Diablo - will see how they go. Hard riding on the road. Love them corners.

I replaced the front @ 7500 cos it was slipping in the wet, still had over half the tread on it. The rear was replaced @ 11,500 cos it was getting a bit close to the limit. They were the dunlop sportmax's supplied with the bike.
Best wear i have ever got was from michelins , 17,500 rear & 32,000 front , that was on a Suzuki gsx 1100 ex.
I do a lot of two up work and I had to replace the rear last month having bought the CB last October. In that time I had done 7500kms, but I think I sent it to an early grave due to not checking my pressures before setting off on our tour of the N. Island. Oops! Slapped wrist. Running with that load even slightly under pressure resulted in quite drastic scalloping on the edges of the rear. If I had done my pre ride check properly (read "at all") then I might have squeezed another 2K out of the tyre. My riding style is not aggressive at all. (Big wuss you see). So, lesson learned.

Genraly get about 8000 out of rears, 12000 from fronts on SV1000 but GSXR eats em between 500 & 2000 ks depending on ride mode must admit the set that only got 500 were used a bit harder than the law would like . The SV gets consistant milage whatever the use except that shingle roads tear up the tyres ,and paint a hell of a lot faster so can't give an average milage as use and milage varies so much. As for tyre types I'm constantly changing to try and find the best ones as a result of this dont often have matching tyres.
