Just about to get my new bike this weekwoohoo.. but was thinking about some places to start off riding - practising the basic's like emergency stopping, gear changes etc and thought of [what i thought] was the perfect place in onehunga for those who know it - the road that runs parallel to the motorway from around queenstown road towards onehunga.. It's on the manukau harbour side and there never seems to be any traffic there. So I'll plan on heading over there early (7am) on the weekend.. But...
I haven't been over there in a while, and then I thought shite they may have speed bumps down there. Which lead me to think, I hadn't even considered these amongst the list of things I should add to my learning list!
So I'd be keen to hear on the best way to deal with them.. i.e. obviously at slow speed.. But what about the ones with painted lines all over them.. in the rain.. ekk... and whilst turning. Any advice appreciated.
And if anyone can tell me if there are actually speed bumps over there that would be terrific.. !
