I brought a matt black Craft RX6 with a black visor. I have less trouble now with discourteous drives. I recommend the Darth Vader look, appears to make the cagers think twice about messing with you.

Car drivers do it to us every day have'nt you been seeing the amount of threads for near misses and accidents they dont give a fuck why should we!
If we go out on the road with a softie attitude we'll get taken out we must be aggressive and let these people know it's not okay to uturn in front of us it's not okay to run us off the road because they were too lazy to look and were not going to be bullied on the road!!!!
Cue the national anthem and hands over your hearts!!!
NEVER LET THE TRUTH GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
Yes, but it is not the genuine "oops, mistake" happenings that are the issue.
That will happen, and, speaking for myself, if someone makes a mistake and admits it, then it doesn't make me angry.
What DOES make me angry are the deliberate "You are only a motorcycle, so I am going to do xxxx and I don't really give a stuff if I kill you" people. And there's a LOT of them around.
Or the ones who, deliberately or otherwise, do some idiotic illegal shit that risks my safety, and then either , think it's a huge joke and just giggle about it (Asians are REALLY bad at that); or get aggro and aggressive.
Or the grossly careless, don't give a stuff who they kill people. Steaming round a blind bend on the wrong side of the road is NOT a mistake.
*Those* people make me angry, and any punishment they get is well deserved.
I have gotten timid and gentle in old age though. I no longer carry my kickarse huge safety chain slung over my shoulders. Oddly, back when I did, I didn't use to get as angry. 'Twas almost clinical - "Oh, right, y' didn't see me. And I should go get fucked. Yeah well, that happens. Like now , f'instance, here I am getting out my chain to secure my bike - and oh look, it's smashed your headlamp. Sorry, didn't see it, mate. Bye "

I do use the *555 or webform sometimes, especially with old doddery drivers , whose real problem is that they are just past it. I figure that if dodderer gets a few finger wagging letters, maybe Mrs Dodderer will step in and suggest that maybe he should let her drive (of course, she may be as bad or worse).
One point, if you *do* decide to bother with *555 or the webpage, do NOT put in your own rego number, cos if you do the cops will know you were on a bike, and the complaint will go straight into the waste paper basket.

Yeah I reckon a national campiagn amied at awareness of bikers and better driving skills by car owners is looong overdue.
I've done the web thing twice with the bike rego and got a confirmation letter each time. I thought about faking the reg, but wouldn't be surprised if they cross check this with the supplied name and address and discard it if it doesn't match.
I used the bike reg after some old tart in a merc cut me off without looking when i was in the car. I don't know what the letter looks like to the offender, but I'm hoping it mentions bike and they think "bike? what bike" and get a bit of a shock.....
Hate to burst ya bubble of self assertion there Ixion.. but that is not true. I have made a complaint to the Police, about a car driver in regards to their dangerous driving, whilst I was riding my bike, & it was dealt with. The driver was visited & given a stern warning. I just went in & stated the facts & gave accurate details.. I did not go in with an angry or aggressive attitude.. (which could have instantly put me on the back foot if I had, & the outcome may have been different!!)
I guess it's all in the way in which we conduct ourselves.. as to the outcome.
GET ON
SIT DOWN
SHUT UP
HANG ON
I've gotta dissassemble my computer for a move in a minute so please excuse me if I've butted in half way through a line of conversation...
I've also had a few incidents. I've been provoked without retaliation too many times to mention but one incident of solid sidekicking a van cost me close to $2000 in lawyers fees and compensation in the early nineties. From a turning lane to my left he unnecessarily drove within millimeters of my leg while I was waiting in the middle of the road to cross two lanes. He had plenty of distance to stop but he was just being a prick. Of course it pissed me off no end and after HAVING TO blast across the road (with his van blocking view of traffic!!) I spun around and kicked the sh*t out of his van. Unfortunately, I had an easily memorable numberplate - DUH!
Another one was a "Once We Were Worriers" '72 Falcon that pulled right on me as I was passing him (not slowly, not quickly). He only got a finger but for him that was more than enough provokation to try and runme down - I KID YOU NOT - FULL ON with smoking up tyres and the whole works. Unfortunately I was still trying to get to the same wholesaler so I looped around the area a bit too much and ended up meeting him at an intersection where deciding not to go past him because I thought he'd ram me I stomped on the picks, dumped the front and slid past him instead. The cop said he was on his way to an anger management course! Of course! Takes all sorts... BRING ON THE HEAD MOUNTED LASERS!!
I've tried to restrain myself a bit since then. I've also been a bit more careful about ensuring the straight front end setup on my bike now to!
Well I got to my anger and stress management meeting, and the DAMN building was EMPTY and there was NOBODY there, and I am VERY ANGRY.
But i did not pursue any cars this evening, and I satisfied my urge to destroy by watching World's Wildest Police Videos, which is on every Thursday, Prime, 7.30pm.
Determined to kill my bike before it kills me
