I just hit a girl on my bike.

This post won't really have a point, I'm just furious at the human race in general right now.

So I was feeling a bit peckish and decided to kill my arteries a bit by getting McD's, so off I go! Happy as larry I pootle down the road to the local mcdonalds, which is in southmall, manurewa.. Going there at night should have been caution enough to turn back, but I really felt like a cheeseburger damnit.

So I go in, get my fatty fill in a bag and head out, I'm in the southmall carpark and head out towards the roundabout and I see this group of kids, maybe 15 - 18, oblivious to traffic on the road and almost get run over by a car ahead of me.. so I think, not the smartest kids out tonight and as I approach them I rev my bike pretty loudly so they get the idea that they are infact on a road and that dordling along isn't the best idea, a couple of the guys look my way but keep dordling, one slightly moves out of my way and I think ok they've got the message.. I'm only going at about 5kmph, if that.

Next thing I know this girl on her cellphone just walks, looking the other direction, right into the front left side of my bike, bam! wobble! "Watch where you're fucking going you stupid fucking idiot!", in anger I turned around, parked and got off and asked if any of them would like to apologise for acting like ducklings following their mother, no response, I say "well?" and get a few "sorry"'s under their breath.

This was a fairly big girl that bumped into me so I check if there's damage and rearrange my mirror back to its position and ride off.

I had to stop just down the road to take a few deep breaths.

Why, oh fucking why, do people not look where vehicles are clearly going? Forget that bint, I almost dropped my fucking bike because of her, fuck that!

Anyway, rant over.. I might get some "you're in the wrong you dick" posts, maybe I worded the story wrong (only just got back and jumped on kb... is that weird?) but I kow 100% I was in the right and that bitch should have been taught how to look left and right before crossing anywhere with vehicles on it by now.

    /rant over

Sorry, like I said, pointless post.. I just had to vent.

You should have hit her properly. You would have been doing the gene pool a favour.

Agreed - where's Ixion, travelling salesperson of the wonderous Gene-o-kleen?

Cheer up, it was probably an innocent mistake, she saw a big black noisy object and probably thought it was a relative coming up for a hug...

Was it a pestestrian crossing ? If not, she hit you. You oughta sue her.

You should've done a wheelie up to them followed by a stoppie then a burn out. That's the only way to drill into people's heads that you're there

    I agree with Ixion, sue

Nah, it was no where near. When I got home I thought maybe I should get her details but I doubt I would have gotten them easily, and they were pretty smug/careless about the whole thing.. I didn't really want to get in their faces, 1 angry biker against 2 car loads of .... yeah, :/

I just can't actually fathom the stupidity of some people, I really can't.

I'm with you!! I can not believe the amount of people that dawdle out onto the road in front of car and then don't actually run when they see you but just keep waddling along at the same slow arsed pace. I will slow or stop for old people, cripples, the mentally retarded, children etc, but not some dipshit on their phone or too busy listening to snoopdog on their ipod or something, fuckers should know better or get run down like dogs!

Bet she'll think to look next time.

Saw a bicycle and a pedestrian accident years ago when I lived in London (think the pedestrian was on a mobile also) step right out in front of a cyclist going probably 30kms. Right superfu#ked both pedestrian, cyclist and bike. Think the bicycle was super twisted. Felt sorry for the poor cyclist - bet his bike cost a pretty penny. At least you're okay and the bike, she probably got a fright - perhaps a bruise.

Not that uncommon unfortunately, just glad to hear you're okay matey.

Thanks Chickadee, I'm glad I'm okay too! It could have been worse had I'd been going faster, like I said I had to stop down the road to compose myself.. just the thought of hitting another human being kinda stumped me for a second.

I can't believe you only slightly grazed one, that's a pretty poor effort. Better luck next time.

i know how you feel...hows this one:

i was heading down ilam rd in chch (aaaaages ago), on the way home from uni...reasonably busy road, only doing 50kmh and there's a primary school next door to the uni...

so im heading straight and there are a pair of young girls (maybe 10-12 years old) riding side by side along the side of the road on little pink girlie bikes....so as i pass them there's a side road on the right and one of them decides its time to turn down the side street, right across my path!! didnt look, obviously didnt hear the bike (big black GPz900R with custom stainless pipes = pretty loud), she was just lucky i was on my bike and not in my car!!!

so i yell "FUCK!" and collect her right side with my left side and we got down in a heap - i tried to swerve right but she just came across so sharp i couldnt miss and we actually skated across the oncoming lane and ended up in the mouth of the side street (again...lucky for both of us there weren't any oncoming vehicles!)

so i get up...a few scrapes and bruises but no worries....i ask her if she's ok, she's fine, a couple of small grazes, bloody surpised and probably in shock but ok nonetheless....so i pick up the bike and then look it over, indicators gone, fairing scraped to shit, side of engine scraped to shit, mirror smashed, pegs bent, pipe scraped all to hell, etc, etc

so i turn around and her and her friend have gone....

i contacted the school and got nowhere with finding out who it was or compensation for the damage

thanks for repair bill ya stoopid tart!!!
