Very strange behaviour, for a Harley.
Who says we don't like it?
It's the 'new wave' and just takes a bit of getting use to.

(Those overhead valve ideas are just a passing phase, as for water cooled motorsikle engines? hmph!

If you MUST have valves (can't see the necessity m'self) side valves are the only sensible way to go.

That and the fact the diehard Harleyistas don't consider them Harleys.
But they're a bit one-eyed like that, eh Divot.
Dont get me wrong I enjoyed the 500 odd k's that I put on the vrod. But the wheel disks do seam to be buffered by the wind, but could get use to it. Much rather the buell for a sport type bike. That was a great ride, and is much more like a HD. Well it is a sporty motor with a few extras. Like the looks of it as well.

    interesting really.
Over the weekend coming back from the rally down south the ole northwester got up and buffeted a few bikes around a bit. Had Gav and Mrs Gav on the vfr in front of me, getting tossed around a bit and i expected the same but had much less problem than he was, and there was only me on a fairly liteweight bike ....gee i LUV the Buell!!
It did surprise me a bit tho, always use to get a bit of a buffeting on the Virago

I know for a fact that they can be ridden just as hard and fast as a Jappa.... the difference is that it takes BALLS!

Hey its the quality of the ride that matters not the speed.... so long as you can nail it in the windies its all good

On the subject of the V-Rod... well not 1 for bragging, but I was the 1st female in NZ to ride 1. Loved it but wouldn't dream of trading the Buell on it. Come to think of it according to Morgan&Wacker I was also the 1st female in NZ to own an X1.

Saw that, unreal the man-hours and computer time put into the V-rod, it brings it home how bikes like that don't just 'happen'

When I'm rich and famous I'll get one. (and add tassles and ape-hangers and... )

But think that sucker was a special one, with rather extended footpegs.

Laugh! How do think I managed???? at 5'3" ???? Everytime I had to stop and take off I was pulling myself forward on the seat trying to reach the damn things!!! I was just about sitting on the tank.....
If my seat hadn't been modified ans reshaped there is NO WAY I'd be able to touch the ground on the Buell and as it is I am on tippy-toes! But who cares? Doesn't matter while yr riding....

    what a lot of crap

worlds fastest bike is a twin engined shovel

held the world speed record since 1990 and the same bike and rider cracked the record back in 78

shovels can be made to go extremely well, twin plugging, head work decent cam and decent carb & exhaust don't cost the earth

and best of all if you want to spend big $$$$ once you get them out to 98" they can be made to produce more power than an evo

they have hemi heads with decent sized valves and will flow a lot more gas than any evo can

Aye - I've hung out for a few days with Robert Dennert - 'Platform Director VRSC Motorcycles' and his development crew - did the regional release of the Street Rod with them.
    It was very interesting.
